I am in the market for a trailer to haul the Kat and there is a local auction for one that is down to the wire.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=003&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&viewitem=&item=130056599689&rd=1,1

I am looking for some quick, friendly advice as to the value of this trailer. I know some of you have quite a bit of experience in this arena and any help is appreciated.

xp, Very similar to mine. I would think new would be about $6500?.

I give you my opinion on mine.
There is no escape door on the drivers side so getting out of the Prowler(or any car) is a slight pain. I get out of mine then put the top up. It's difficult even with the top down.

You will need a load leveling device to go with the hitch and an anti-sway bar. ($300 at least)

That's all the negatives. I like my trailer and I am going to put a door on the other side over the wheelwell area.

I glued indoor/outdoor carpet in mine and trimmed the edges in diamond plate.

The prowler is about 14 feet long so there is plenty of room for anything else you want to carry.

I did a quick Google search and it looks like this trailer sells new for $4,600 to $5,500. I would guess that the 18ft is at the low end and the 24ft is at the high. These trailers don't depreciate like cars. From the look of the loading ramp you may have to carry some extra boards to load your Prowler. Its a wide body which is what you want. I would highly recommend a drives side entry door. I also recommend roof vents. On my old trailer I did not order them and regretted not doing so.

Base Price new $4,826.00 . Extended Tongue adds $163.00, 12 Volt Lights $14.00 each, D Rings $59.00 each

Thanks for the info. The limited research I have done also showed that trailers are readily available in the midwest and the south, but they rarely come available in southern California. It seems this is a high but fair price then.

Thanks,
Guy
