.....And where are Obama and congress?....

Oh, and BTW.....Guess what states (red or blue) have the highest rates of unemployment?......HINT: Think "Hope and Change"

ANSWER:

California, Nevada, Illinois, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey and Massachusetts are among the states with significantly higher-than-average percentages of long-term unemployed people.

I disagree with you Ed,,,,I think 26 weeks paid for by the state is fine,,,and if additional time is applied for, let the state pay for 1/2 and the feds throw in the other half of the weekly amount. 52 weeks, MAX!

If the Feds can throw away dollars on PORK crap, then they can afford to pizz away some more. Raise the taxes on alcohol purchases, and add a higher sales tax rate to fast-fat-food restaurants. The alcohol-drunk consumers and fat azzes who want to eat junk, can afford it The tobacco users have already paid their share...

I think 52 weeks max is acceptable, but once you become employed, you have to pay back anything over 26 weeks.

How about 26 weeks and then a job corps type program where the recipients must do at least 30 hours a week in work such as roadside cleanup or park maintainence for another 26 weeks.

I personally would rather complain about it than be unemployed. The word I heard is the longer you are unemployed the harder it is to get a job. I plan on retiring in 5 months, someone will have a great job with unlimited earning potential.

We see signs all over our National Parks that say DO NOT FEED THE WILD ANIMALS, they will become dependant on your help.

Have two neighbors that are both laid off over 6 months, Neither look for jobs. Why should they, when just keep handing them a check every week to sit at home. 26 weeks I think is more than fair.
