No first amendment rights were violated. I don't think anyone has said that he didn't have the right to say the things he did. So maybe give that a rest. That's the US,,,,,,,one of the very few modern countries with no hate laws. In the US, you are allowed to hate people. I'm sure many are proud of that. But hate has consequences. And I believe that A&E also has the right to say what they have said. Tens of thousands have objected to his firing. But millions are disgusted with what he has said about gays and now blacks. To place God in his corner is really wrong.

I guess it is against the law to hate folks in Canada. I wonder how many have been convicted of that so far???
A/C, I wish I had that guy's money. You have to admire that he says what he thinks and stands up for what he believes, and doesn't bow to pressure of the press. He started with nothing and is not worried about his pipeline of $ getting cut off.
I think A & E will lose a whole lot more money than he will. He might actually gain some wealth.
As I said before, I have only seen it a couple of times. It is a show about pretty much nothing, same as most reality shows. I don't think this one is scripted since it is so far off the wall with most of what is happening on the show. I guess they owe a lot to the "Get er done" guy.

Well, there you have it....Straight from the Canadian expert on the US Constitution.

He further criticizes the US for not having "hate laws"
Huh?....I didn't see where Phil said anything about hating gays.

It's a typical liberal response; When you have no other defense, start calling people "haters"

Actually there is a hate crime law on the books but I didn't want to make him look bad.
If you call someone by a racial slur and proceed to assault him or if you make a anti-gay remark and assault a gay person, they can bump it up to a hate crime. I am not positive if that is a Fed law, but I think it is. There have been plenty of U S folks charged with hate crimes. You can't just get charged for hating someone, however. That is a little silly.

Washington, D.C. November 25, 2013

FBI National Press Office (202) 324-3691

WASHINGTON, DC—According to statistics released today by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, 5,796 criminal incidents involving 6,718 offenses were reported in 2012 as being motivated by a bias toward a particular race, religion, sexual orientation, ethnicity/national origin, or physical or mental disability. The statistics, published by the FBI’s Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) Program in Hate Crime Statistics, 2012, provide data about the offenses, victims, offenders, and locations of the bias-motivated incidents reported by law enforcement agencies throughout the nation. Due to the unique nature of hate crime, however, the UCR Program does not estimate offenses for the jurisdictions of agencies that do not submit reports.

I'll stand with Mr. Robertson on his right to say what he believes,,,,,and I'll stand with A & E's right to fire him.
I imagine this will be resolved in the courts as to who the winner is,,,or the Great White sharks will settle this battle out of court.

My question is: Why is Mr. Robertson being slammed for expressing his own personal beliefs,,,while a segment of the LGBT community publicly state their feelings denouncing Christianity beliefs,,without repercussions?

If A&E decides to ax "Duck Dynasty" at least two other networks are eager to snap up the hugely popular reality show according to TMZ.

Merrill Sport, owner of the Christian-affiliated Hunt Channel told the website that he'd be thrilled to pick up the show.

"We believe in the 2nd amendment and freedom of speech," he said. "...A&E needs to put on their big boy pants, and if they don't like the programming, they need to either let ("Duck Dynasty") go or shut up and pay them."

Sports added, "A&E is too scripted. (Hunt Channel) would let the personalities flow."

Rusty Faulk, CEO of the Pursuit Channel is also salivating at the chance to air Phil and his duck posse telling TMZ that the channel doesn't, "censor our personalities."

But they may not be able to move so easily. TMZ is also reporting that the Robertson family's A&E contract precludes the clan from doing another show for a certain period of time.

I agree with that also. I think A & E might come up on the short end of it unless all of it was a publicity stunt and it sure got a lot of publicity.

Things can't be too bad at A & E,,,,,they are running old, repeat episodes of Duck Dynasty every half hour tonight..
If they meant what they said,,,they would run substitute shows in it's place,,,wouldn't you think?

A & E is hypocritical at best.
Don't want Phil Robertson going forward, but showing episodes where he is featured every half hour on Christmas Day.

If it doesn't make sense, follow the money trail and you will find your answer. All that junk on TV is about making money or they wouldn't be there.

Lets see what that could be..

killing animals

showing children how to skin animals

praying

guns

non union

explosives

calling each other fat

blowing up dams

using chain saws indoors

unlawful dumping

"explaining" women's behavior

Yuppies

I think someone would be offended the first minute of any episode.

I can't wait to see them. Long live the Dynasty!!!

If they were upset about his interview with GQ, they ought to go see THE BOOK OF MORMON. We saw it Tue. evening and that play is WAAAY over the top. They make fun of almost everything and it is really rude, crude and popular. I don't see why it is so popular and won a ton of awards.
Parts of it were very clever and funny but a lot of it was 4th grade level comedy.
