It sure fell out of the news after Obama claimed the world would probably end on April 1. He is doing the Republican party a world of good. |

The Sequester has devistated the government/military sector of our company's business. The travel restrictions to conferences/training symposiums for all levels of government/military personnel has meant many conferecnces have been cancelled AND the government still has to pay huge cancellation fees to hotels, conventions centers and other suppliers that have already performed advance work. We have lossed millions of dollars of revenue projected just for 2013 and the lack of action on the Sequester will most likely mean there will be none scheduled for next year as well. |

Thanks for the insight. Nothing has been in the news about it here. Not a word. I would think GE is getting killed on lost contracts, also. |

while i hate to hear about any individual hardships created by the sequester...the fact is that it is nothing more than a small start to the spending cuts that need to be made...we need much, much more cutting of spending. |

quote: Ed I agree BUT, the cuts need to be well thought out, not just wholesale cuts with no regard for what is being cut. The Sequester was suppossed to be toooo bitter of a pill for either party to swallow but............... There is far, far too much wasteful spending, but wasteful cutting/spending reduction can also have unnecessary negative effects. |

I think the cuts are purposely made to inconvenience the public so that the public reacts quickly and then realizes that they are the ones being harmed. If they cut the bureaucrats no one would notice. That is why they cut the airport folks, immediate impact on the public. edited for a horrible spelling error This message has been edited by ed monahan on 05-17-2013 at 05:45 PM |
