Maricopa County Sheriff, Joe Arpaio,,,sticking his nose up at the Obama administration and Homeland Security head, Janet (Jim) Napolitano,,,,doing another crime sweep raid today on the GNC vitamin distribution center in Phx. Looking for illegal aliens and profiling? NO,,,21 reported employees working there with ID's from dead people Now,,if they happen to be illegals, thats just another charge to file against them. ID theft is a big problem,,especially to the surviving members of a deceased person's family. Go get 'em Joe,,,,kick some azz! |

Sheriff Joe's only problem with this,,,,is going on a regular work day when many of 'these people' don't show up for work. He needs to have the raids on paycheck day,,,,when they all show up to get paid

When he is done there, send him over to Southern Cal, as if he wants to fight coruption, This is the best place to start. The one thing I do admire about this guy, He stands right up to the Feds. I believe if the Feds did screw with him as far as an arrest, You would see riots in Arizona. We really could use alot more Joe's around the U S This message has been edited by phil2237 on 08-09-2012 at 06:23 PM |

I provided a link on the biography of Sheriff Joe, age 80, and one of the toughest Sheriffs in the U.S. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joe_Arpaio ** Be sure to scroll down and read the history and law enforcement background of Sheriff Joe,,,,this guy has a ton of experience in law enforcement. Any Sheriff who states his 'guard dogs' eat better than his county jail inmates,,,,,gets my vote! And when the inmates bitch about the heat while sleeping outside in "Tent City",,,,Joe tells them about our soldiers serving in the middle east, where its 128 degrees, them sleeping on the ground, and with their heavy backpacks on! Remember,,,Joe has nearly 8000 jail inmates in the country jail,,,,not to be confused with a state prison. ENJOY the read..... |

What did he charge the owner of the business with? With so many Americans out of work, that's the person we need to deport. ------------------ |

GNC was very co-operative with law enforcement,,,,after all, the illegals were using ID's of legal, dead people. I suppose GNC ran the applicants through E-Verify, and the names and soc. sec. numbers came back clean? Hard to fault the employer, in this case. Sheriff Joe always announces that there will be job openings with that employer, at that location, the following day after they round up and charge those arrested for identity theft |

Really? Sounds like there is a big fault in whatever system GNC is using to hire illegals. But, as usual nothing ever happens to people who hire illegals. Guess thats why they do it. ------------------ |

If more States enforced their laws like Texas & Arizona, I think we would all be better off. California's Death Penalty is a joke, They worry about any pain the prisioner might suffer with the drugs they use to kill them. The prisioner didn't seem to worry about his victims pain. GO TEXAS & ARIZONA ! |

Phil,,,AZ just executed another death row inmate the other day... He was complaining about the drugs used also,,,but the Supreme Court refused to hear his case. I believe the lethal injections are too kind for the death sentence,,,,,,back to the gas chamber, electric chair, or hanging. These people should feel the pain of their victims on the way out! And like the Timothy McVeigh verdict, once found guilty and sentenced to death,,,,do it in no more than five or six years. Its BS to feed and care for these killers for twenty years or more before carrying out the sentence handed down. jmo |

This subject is morphing here but I'll go along. The death penalty is fine but IMO only if mutiple people were witness or authnticated video evidence is availible. I just watched a movie with Hillary Swank called "conviction" where the cops turned several people against a guy that was innocent and he got life in prison, his sister became a lawyer in real life to defend him and after 18 yrs got him out. True story from up in Mass. The small town cops didn't like the guy and set him up. So hang, shoot or electrocute as you will but only very selectivly, I'd hate to see 1 innocent person go down for no good reason. |

"So hang, shoot or electrocute as you will but only very selectivly, I'd hate to see 1 innocent person go down for no good reason." I think all of us here except one could agree with that statement,,,,but I think nearly 90% of those making the 'death walk' claim they are innocent to the end. They are only feeling sorry for themselves, not the murdered victim(s)....
