Not that I support him, but this is one idea I agree with.

Obama might send troops into Pakistan By NEDRA PICKLER, Associated Press Writer
2 hours, 33 minutes ago

WASHINGTON - Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama said Wednesday that he would possibly send troops into Pakistan to hunt down terrorists, an attempt to show strength when his chief rival has described his foreign policy skills as naive.

The Illinois senator warned Pakistani President Gen. Pervez Musharraf that he must do more to shut down terrorist operations in his country and evict foreign fighters under an Obama presidency, or Pakistan will risk a U.S. troop invasion and losing hundreds of millions of dollars in U.S. military aid.

"Let me make this clear," Obama said in a speech prepared for delivery at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars. "There are terrorists holed up in those mountains who murdered 3,000 Americans. They are plotting to strike again. It was a terrible mistake to fail to act when we had a chance to take out an al-Qaida leadership meeting in 2005. If we have actionable intelligence about high-value terrorist targets and President Musharraf won't act, we will."

The excerpts were provided by the Obama campaign in advance of the speech.

Obama's speech comes the week after his rivalry with New York Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton erupted into a public fight over their diplomatic intentions.

Obama said he would be willing to meet leaders of rogue states like Cuba, North Korea and Iran without conditions, an idea that Clinton criticized as irresponsible and naive. Obama responded by using the same words to describe Clinton's vote to authorize the Iraq war and called her "Bush-Cheney lite."

When you look at Obamas' voting records and the current state of Illinois politics, avoid voting for him at all costs. You will be lucky if you can find where he was actually in the chambers to vote when anything controversial was up for vote.

Illinois has a democratic majority in both the house and the senate and has a democrat for a governor. We are now 2 months past getting a budget approved and still no end in site. Our house and the senate members are among the highest paid in the country, and are now drawing overtime pay since they could not get their job done by June 1.

Also keep in mind that Obama came out of the chicago democratic machine.

Illinois is a good example of what would happen if the dems end up controlling the house, senate and presidency in 2008. Gridlock with not even basic items being taken care of, and proposals for massive increases in give away programs.

The gov wants to provide health insurance to all. Doesn't matter if you can get it at work and just choose not to.
The state will provide it. Under some of the current programs people making $100,000 a year are getting free or extremely low cost healthcare.

It's hard to imagine that the Dumbacrats can't find anyone better qualified to run than Hillary and Obama Whatshisname..OMG!!!!! I think that this has become "proof positive" that our Presidential election has become a popularity contest and has little to do with the candidates qualifications ....

Personally, I wouldn't want either one of them running my company, much less, my country...

The "good guys" don't seem to be doing much better when it comes to finding a candidate.... John McCain seems to have "self destructed" after sucking up to the liberals for the last two years.... On the upside, I happen to see an interview of "Rudy" with Charlie Rose the other day and am beginning to think that maybe he's the guy to support for '08...I heard a lot of common sense and "straight" answers....JMO

Brian > thanks for the update on Osama Obama. Hard to believe that the people of Illinois have been duped by the Dumbacrats for so many decades,,,,and those stiffs are still controlling that state
Next to Michigan, I thought Illinois highway maintenance was some of the worse roads I've driven on.

Rich - same old song,,,,,Obama is just telling people what they want to hear. He isn't sincere with his rhetoric,,,,just is trying to secure more contribution money and votes away from the skank. He also said if he was President,,,he'd never use nuclear weapons against any foe. WTH,,,,,what kind of thinking is that? He ain't no poker player,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

They don't have the whole state duped, just the major population centers where most of the give away programs are used.

Here is the last election county by county, Blue is the dems, red repub.

For the most part we were stuck with these crooks due to voting by Chicago, East St. Louis, Peoria and the quad cities. Even the dems are starting to see our gov for what he is. No recall here allowed, but there has been talk of impeachment, which here if the charges stick the person impeached is immediately removed from office.

One can only hope, of coarse he could also be doing the perp walk any day. He has also set the record for the most ongoing criminal investigations of any administration.

I guess I should also mention he got a whole 15% of the vote in my county.
