'I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around the banks will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered.'
Thomas Jefferson 1802

He also said, "Any government big enough to give the people what they want is strong enough to take what they have."

But, hey, keep those tires inflated.

Also "attributed" to Jefferson; "The government that governs best, governs least"....

Go ahead and Snopes it...It's controversial that he actually said that, but not disproven either....

Oh yeah,...If you can't keep those tires inflated just wait till the "O" man gets around to developing a solar powered Prowler....

I am a 62 year old man who has collected a total of $555 in "entitlements" during my entire life......$300 of that was from the recent "stimulous" program and the other $255 was the death benefit I received from social security after my late wife's death in 2002. BTW, she had worked and paid into the system for 19 years and so I hardly feel "beholding" for receiving such a meager amount.

Over my 62 years I have seen and experienced the "ups and downs" of life but have always been self sufficient and not once expected the government to support me or my family. When times got tough, I worked two jobs or did without....

It has occured to me that many liberals are goverment employees....Apparently, a lifetime of living off the government "tit" with no fear of layoff or job loss due to economic conditions or even poor job performance conditions civil service employees into being unsympathetic to, and unaffected by, the "real world".....The paycheck and perks just keep coming regardless of what others in the private sector have to deal with. I dare say none have ever been faced with unemployment because their employer couldn't make payroll.

So go ahead and vote in a Socialist with the hope that the "tit" will only get bigger....Those of us that are self-sufficient and work each day to pay into the system that "re-distibutes" our hard earned tax dollars will just keep on "keeping on"...

God help America

The only thing the "NO man" is going to develop is alot more taxes and more welfare and big government you can shake a stick at.
