Check your headlight switch to make sure interior lights are not on.

I have Tom Mills 2 piece deck lid but showing

The yellow rags on top is recommended and to be tucked in to insure top fabric doesn’t get pinched in center in deck lid latch or the top release doesn’t rub a spot.

I believe if your cluster is showing DECK in place of odometer then the deck lid isn’t latched completely or the switch doesn’t recognize it being closed

Now what I do every TIME I close the deck lid is to always PULL UP on deck lid in the center to make sure it is latched.

There have been a couple that the deck lid blew up at speed and did considerably damage.

Don’t think the hood has and switch that shows on dash if not latched

The hood ajar switch is mentioned on page 8Q-3 in the 1999 Prowler manual. It is on the driver's side just inside the side panel.
