For those of you who occasionally trailer your car, what is the shortest enclosed trailer that will fit the prowler? Looking to get one and was wondering if a 16' would be enough room for the car to fit ? Thanks for your help

The car is 14’ so if you have a 16’ wide body it should fit

But why are you wanting the shortest trailer (unless you already have it?

I have a 24’ trailer but I also have prowler trailer & weekender and have plenty of room. But pulling my 24’ trailer or the 16’ trailer a friend has isn’t much difference

And if you want to put something else in it the 16’ probably wouldn’t work

I would suggest an 18 or 20’ minimum

My 95 3/4 ton was a much better truck for pulling & knew that when I bought this 1/2 ton. But don’t pull the trailer much

Same truck pulling 16’ trailer

Didn’t have car in it but it would fit

Would suggest Etrack on floor to tie down especially with that short of trailer

Another thing to consider the longer the trailer the easier it is to back up. shorter trailers turn quicker which often is not a good thing. They are easier to jackknife. I pulled a 24 Foot enclosed trailer with a Dodge Ram 1/2 ton with an Hemi. I also pulled it with a Hemi Dodge Durango but I wouldn’t recommend that. Another thing I had on my trailer was an access door on the drivers side. I could open it before I loaded the car in the trailer and it made it much easier getting in and out of the car once inside the trailer The trailer was a Wells Cargo.

I am very familiar with pulling an enclosed trailer, I currently have a 10' enclosed trailer for motorcycles, and I just sold a 14' enclosed I used for hauling my Morgan 3 wheeler and a Vanderhall. I guess my biggest question is can you get out of the prowler and walk out the back when you get the car in the trailer. My other cars did not have doors and were narrow but the prowler seems to fill the trailer.

I am still tossing the open trailer idea around but I found a 16' enclosed and that has caused me to stop and ask yall some questions. Getting in and out of the car while on the trailer is a must.

I know the benefits of enclosed versus open and really like the enclosed for security while traveling and keeping it clean going from location to location. I heard about the Texas roll back and looked them up and that is nice. I was looking at an Aluma tilt trailer with stone guard on front and it was really nice but I can get an enclosed trailer for less.

The reasoning for the shortest length possible is for ease of parking in hotels and storing the trailer. I just sold my F250 Limited diesel and bought a F150 limited with the 3.5L powerboost. It will flat pull and has the torque to do any of these trailers but it won't compare to the diesel.

A man door on the drivers side is a definite plus. If you do not have one, you can load with the top down and step on the seat and over the door to the fender well. Not ideal, but doable.

I switched from an enclosed trailer to a 16 foot open. The open trailer pulled so nice I hardly knew it was back there. There are pluses and minuses to both kinds.
