Ed if you are still planning to drive down the Natchez Trace you should checkout the projected path of Hurricane Delta. The National Hurricane Center has it traveling in that direction.. |

Have a fun trip....for the record as of now there is only one day next week with more than a 20% chance of rain down here. Of course that could change anytime! |

You definitely may need the 6 umbrellas Ed, but sooner rather than later. Y'all be careful, watch the weather forecasts for your trip. Sounds like a great group trip. I'm jealous. Look forward to seeing everyone. |

We met at Brothers restaurant in Central City, Ky. ( did I mention home of the Everly Brothers?) and drove to Forest City, Arkansas. We managed to dodge rain but cloudy all the way. Perfect top down trip so far. Total mileage on day one was 349 miles. More back roads driving set for tomorrow and will be in Texas. Steve Clark, Rod Endsley, Ray Roof, Ed and Sandy and me and Carole. What a great traveling group to be with. |

Sounds like a FANTASTIC group! I repeat, I'm jealous. I doubt you'll be so lucky tomorrow with no rain. Rain bands from Delta heading your way. Be careful. |

Bruce.....you all will probably beat us to the hotel Saturday....thinking is we will use the parking lot on the North side(right as you look at the hotel front door) We could consider the West lot in the rear behind the pool. As the first people there you can check it out! |

1000.1 miles from home in 2 days. Drag a bag doesn't work per Rod. No tickets so far. VERY slight sprinkles for a few minutes, no construction except for a 5 minute delay while they took our pictures. We had a clorful trip, crossed the Red river, the Green, the White river and then the Trinity river. Also the Ohio, Mississippi and several others. We made it. Saw Bill Monroe's hometown, Everly Brothers hometown and went thru Johnny Cash's hometown in Ark. yesterday. As we passed the San Marcos sign today, my iPod was playing Willie Nelson's MOMMA DON'T LET YOUR BABIES GROW UP TO BE COWBOYS. Honest Injun. |
