I had a new Prowler owner from Arizona post a comment on my YouTube channel, asking for a recommendation on what products are good to help protect the soft top in the scorching heat there. I haven't done anything to help care for my soft top since it's not out in the sun with the top up very often, and the Michigan sun is rarely that bad. Anyone from Arizona or other hot climates have any good suggestions? This message has been edited by koolkty on 05-21-2020 at 03:03 PM |

While the top is dry, take a cup of water and pour a small amount on the top. If it beads up and runs off, you're OK. If the water soaks in, the top needs waterproofing. 303 Tonneau and convertible top cleaner. Wet top and spray on the cleaner. Using circular motion, brush in cleaner with a soft bristle brush. This may need to be done several times to get the top clean. Do the cleaning in the shade. 303 Fabric Guard. Let top dry for a day before applying the waterproofing. Shake the bottle well before using. It can be sprayed on But I find it better to pour a small amount into a cup. I use a 1 1/2" paint brush and apply to a small area at a time. Let dry overnight and then apply a second coat. After that, I have been able to get by with one additional coat every year. As with washing, apply the waterproofing in the shade. Amazon or any of the auto parts stores should carry these products.

I have used 303 products on three different cars, works great. If you decide to spray it on cover the car and tape off the rear window. You didn’t want to get any on the glass or paint it’s a son of a gun to get off . This message has been edited by jwallis on 05-21-2020 at 06:23 PM |

I agree 100%. My late father(RIP) used it on all of his antique cars and swore by it. I now use it on my Prowler and think it's the best out there. |

Here is the Amazon link to what I used and I recommend it. Don't get the protectant on the paint. This message has been edited by padroo on 05-22-2020 at 11:24 AM |

As others have stated,,,I always have had great luck with 303 products in Arizona.. The sun and heat can be brutal on the soft top material. |

mopar makes a great sealer just for convts. i have put it on since the cat was new. take a sheet of plastic big enough to cover the car. i put the top down enough to pull it over the inside. then put the top up. it will keep the sealer from all the paint. i do this about every 2 years or when water does not bead up on it. |
