I figured 5 pages was enough. SO with that............... P0601 code. I remembered one of the companies from way back that was the premier company for modifying Chrysler product computers. And that was B&G Computers. Not only do these guys do it all, they've been in business for more than 25 years doing so. And they have access to all Chrysler passwords and codes dating back to the 90's. I talked with a tech that was very familiar with the computers in our Prowlers. Brought up this dreaded 601 code. Here's what he said. This code does not affect the performance of our cars as we have established. But throws the check light. According to him, he CAN turn off that code check engine light. My question was if something was wrong with area of the chip that caused the code would we just waiting for it to pop up again. His answer...."once I clear that you WON'T be seeing it again". More good news. For $399.00 not only will he clear the code but he will modify the fuel and ignition curve for what he described as a noticeable difference in the cars performance. Claims they've done this many times with no side effects! I did not get into other areas of modifications such as fan controls but I'm sure they can enhance that as well. They do just about ALL Chrysler products. I briefly spoke about my Hemi Ram truck and that he said they've been doing those for years. I personally know of several people that have had these guys work their magic and not one has come back with any problems from their mod's. So what do you all think?? |

I think it sounds like a "relatively" cheap fix, compared to some of the other options. I don't have the problem at this time but if I ever do, that would be my first choice. Good work finding it. |

Can you furnish the company address and phone number? I'm not having any problems but you never know. This is exactly why being a Prowler Online member is so important. There is no other place with this amount of Prowler knowledge and the willingness to share it. |

Can they flash the odometer info? Here's my thought..... I have a spare that I might consider them " tuning" but it is a 2002 and my Kat is a 2000. I do not know the mileage of the 2002 computer , but if I do this I'd like the mileage to be current with what I have now and then my stock 2000 computer would be my spare.

mslc10, I have a 2002 car and I THINK I have the computers for a 2000. Maybe a trade is in order? I have to double check those facts, I am old. |

I knew there would be a lot more questions. But at least we have something. And yes....B&G may be merging with another company. I didn't have time to ask all questions. Either way this company is Mopar deluxe! And this should take of a lot of worry and concern regarding our cars. I would like to find out more about performance modes and what to expect. I believe that we send them our computer, they make their mod's and send them back. He said once they have it, it would take a day then on the way back! |
