Have a picture of "I Scream" when it was a copper color (not the same as Prowler Orange) and Jerry had a white top on it at the time.

For those that don't know Jerry Was the head engineer on the Prowler project and "I Scream" was his mule. Believe it started out as a yellow car, painted Orange, (copper) and finally was painted white with blue top

The white didn't look that good in the Orange, have seen a tan top on the Prowler Orange and it looks great.

A white top and interior would look great on a black car, yes hard to keep clean but most are not daily drivers and are pampered so not as hard as a daily driver.

If that car only has 10,000 miles the top must have been changed just to put a white top on. Lots of money to replace a perfectly good top with a new color, only to drive around on nice days with the top down. LOL

I had my top replace because I got tired of seeing pieces of the seam all in the seat. I guess they dry rot no matter how many miles you have on it. I think the years is what gets them...(15 years) My new top sure looks and fits better.

My top has had no problems maybe if a car was stored in a hot garage all the time. Mine spent most of its life in Texas.
My garage is heated and air conditioned year round.

When car in not being used best to have top up but not latched so it isn't stretched all the time.

Larry,

Jerry was one of the engineers on Team Prowler but Craig Love was head engineer on Team Prowler.

------------------
The REAL CJ - The One and Only
1999 Black - PPROWLR
2002 Deep Candy Red - CJPROWLN
2002 Black California Kid Prowler - CAL KID

The Prowler makes you smile. Why? Because it's focused. It has a plot, a reason for being, a passion. It evokes the hot rod. It evokes the American Dream. This car is the human psyche.

At the moment there are two Prowler tops (Brown, and a White) on frames listed on Flea Bay. Here is a cut and paste from the ad:

New Brown Mopar Convertible Top mounted on frame. Purchased from Chrysler R & D Department prior to the end of the Prowler program.

New Off White Mopar Convertible Top Mounted on Frame. Purchased from Chrysler R & D Department prior to the end of the Prowler program.

The seller's User ID is coolwilly317

The "Buy It NOW Price" for either top is only $3,300.00 plus $50.00 for shipping.

I think the only color the brown could possibly go on is orange, maybe yellow.

I agree w/garyssss brown on orange would look good. I always thought blue Mulholland top would look good on silver.

I think the white could go on anything. Especially the blue and add some white interior.

If those two tops are new then why do they show wear and are dirty. Especially the white one along the bottom back. Looks like it has been used a bunch locking the top down on a deck lid. The brown is not as bad but also shows wear and dirt signs of use.

I am not sure the off white would looks as good as the one on the Purple Prowler for sale. I would have to see it on a car.

I've had several black Corvette roadsters with tan rag tops and they looker fantastic. Think the tan would look just as nice on a black cat.

Lots of opinions on color. I like black on black.
