Don Ward (Kozican) just finished up the new 1950's Art Deco look A-1 Carstar Collision Repair at 8882 Louetta in Houston, and man is it nice!!!

He is having his Grand Opening Friday November 6 from 2-6pm

I took the Yellow down today and have it on display in his lobby. Houston area folks need to stop by and check out the new place!

Tom, I still like your Yellow. I was looking at that one when you bought it, but it was too far away for me.

Thanks, I am glad I was able to get this one.

There was a blue that I had worked on trying to buy a few years ago and the seller was working with me, but the timing was just not good for me, too many other things were going on for me to do the deal in the timeframe he needed.
I found it one other time, but the new owner wanted way too much, not sure where it went from there.

Tom. I think your yellow is better looking than the blue & silver flamed one.

Officer Randall that's Rick Spyrison's old car that he ended up selling at Barret Jackson. I bought a bunch of stuff from Rick and I to am sorry I never moved on that car. It was really nice and he told me how much he had into that car in paint alone. I felt bad for Rick as Barrett Jackson really put the screws to him from what he told me. He got way less than he expected. You're right whoever bought it put a big number on it and haven't seen it since.

Why didn't Rick Spyrison put a reserve on it at auction?

He was running up on a deadline to take it to Barrett Jackson when I was trying to make the deal. Rick was great to work with, and the price was right, he had a deadline that I couldn't make for him.

I did try to bid on it, but it sold during a commercial and they had me on hold!!!!

I talked to they guy in Las Vegas that bought it, but he added more than ten grand to the asking price, and was not so nice to talk too. I wish I could have gave Rick what he was asking, as I was willing to, just had an issue with timing on a few other projects.

Unfortunately I don't think Barrett Jackson allows reserves on anything except the super high dollar cars. Was too bad as Rick's a super nice guy.

I agree, Rick was great to work with, and we talked after he sent it to them. They really didn't treat him right, and handled the sale of this car poorly. Rick had good reason to be mad.

When that yellow car came up for sale, here on POA, I didn't care for it at all. Now I love it. Sometimes it takes me awhile to warm up to things. I think the fact that Tom really gave it a great detailing, helped a bit, along the way. It looks outstanding now, along with Don's shop.

edited to fix DON'T to DON'S

Thanks Ed, when we bought it, I had my brother pick it up and store it until I could get up to Northern California to pick it up. I only saw pictures of it. Several months later, my Son and I drove out to get it. When Jason first saw it, he hated it, and said, "Dad, you made a big mistake, this thing is in terrible shape!"

I knew it only needed to be "Randallized", so I saw what was under all the crud. I took it home and spent two months detailing it inside and out. It shines like it was just painted yesterday, and I think looks great. Jason loves it now, and can't believe how much a complete detailing will change the appearance of a car.
