This is just for conversation. I was having lunch a good friend of mine when we noticed a muscle car shop accross the street. When we finished up we drove over and looked at a few of the nice Chevys and Olds they had in the lot. We intercepted one of the mechnics and asked a few questions about the cars in the lot. He spotted the prowler and asked to see under the hood. I was happy to pop it up for him. He looked and said, "Not much room in there for a big block." We all laughed a little and I told him about Trey's Hemi. He then offered up the thought of adding a turbo to the car, I said I'd like to keep it as is but thanked him all the same. The thought has been bouncing around in my head now that I said no to the idea and am wondering what type of HP gain do you all think I could get with an added turbo? I doubt very much I'd ever go for it so this is just us talking here. Assume a turbo without adding enough boost to blow the engine. I have a 97' with the cast iron block if that matters to you. Again just curious and fantasizing a little |

Do a search with just the word TURBO and you will get lots of info, a lot of it negative, I think. |

Without an intercooler you can only use a minimal boost. So small that I think it's not worth the effort. There is a guy up here who has a turbo prowler for sale. In talking to him, he is ho humm about the turbo. I think he said 7 lbs max boost but I'm going by memory. If anyone is interested, it's a mulholland with trailer and comes with the stock engine. Sorry for the highjack Dave. |

I think turbo's are the nuts. But you would have the same problem Trey had, the transmission wont stay together. |

I have heard a Paxton Supercharged Prowler and it sounds really really good but am aware these aren't without their issues either. I am happy with the stock motor, gears, and Borla exhaust. |
