Just bought car a month ago...Love it!!! But, have some issues....driver window was off its track in the back when I bought the car...could get to go up and down with some help--- now the window fell totally down into the door....also, the car makes a rattling noise at low speeds and normal driving, but disappears once you get going or just accelerate hard...what's going on?? Also, car has a hesitation when you first start to take off , butt seems to disappear when car is warmed up...any help would be great.... |

The windows are a very common problem. You can get an excellent after market fix from Jefferson Auto, Tom Mills and fix it for life. He advertises on the main page. The hesitation and vibration/rattle could be many different things. Be careful you don't break the glass with the broken window regulator. Fix it sooner, rather than later. |

I had a rattle as well, it came from the engine compartment and only happened at low speeds until the car warmed up. There are some heat shields surrounding the engine that can produce a tinny rattle. All I did was bend them away from their contact point and it helped considerably. Hope that helps and congrats on your new Prowler! |

If you are going into the door panels it is a good time to replace the door speakers, most originals are bad or going bad. You will have it in your hand when you do a window regulator. |

You won't be able to just pull your glass out of the door. There are a couple of bolts at the back that bolt it to the rear guide. Also you'll need to take the weather stripping off at the top of the door. This is the video to watch when installing the Tom Mills kit. It will illustrate how to take the window out. As far as the other stuff, it needs to be diagnosed by a mechanic. It's a common Chrysler engine so it shouldn't be hard to find a mechanic. If the hesitation turns out to be fuel pump related, then you will need to come back here for specialized info on that. |

Got the window out today, but it wasn't really attached to anything, thus not sure what broke....ordering new regulator from Tom.. I assume even though I'm not sure what happened, Tom's kit will go in just fine...seems like someone has already been inside this door because there are zip ties in several places that don't look factory to me....thanks for the help so far!!!! |

quote: That is a little strange and worrysome. There are parts you have to re-use with the new kit. Is it possible that you already have a Tom Mills kit in there and the bolts came loose and fell out? |

Thanks Padroo, but all I have is an Apple I-pad and it won't let me rename my pics, so far as I can tell. But thanks for the link... |

You only need to rename them if the name is too long, I forget what the maximum length is but you could try anyway. Most cameras don't make the file name very long unless it has been changed. I tend to rename mine on my PC and then I have to shorten it up to post it on this forum. Try using the Test Post Area on this forum to practice uploading a picture file. Lots of folks use zip ties when they replace the speakers to keep the wires together and prevent a rattle. |

Anything on the motor. It's held on with bolts. Sorry to confuse you but I was answering his question. Yes people use ties to secure wiring of course. "Is it normal to have zip ties here helping to hold the regulator motor?" This message has been edited by beachcat on 07-12-2015 at 09:07 PM |
