WARNING - THIS STUFF IS ALL TRUE!! Last weekend me and a buddy were in my LOVELY INCA GOLD Prowler (the color that ALLEGEDLY gets no respect - at least on this site), top down and trailer in the back. We pulled over to wait for another buddy driving a KILLER '69 Mustang Mach 1 with a 428 Super Cobra Jet. He was about 15 minutes away from us. Me and my buddy were engaged in conversation, oblivious to what was happening around us when I noticed a Minute Man Highway Patrol Tow truck fast approaching me from behind. After we hooked up with the KILLER STANG, we just ran all out up to Wisconsin. All along the highway, folks were snapping pics of the Prowler following the KILLER STANG!! Folks were blowing horns and waving too!! After we got to the Power Tour Parking lot, I decided to park off to the side. YET IT DIDN'T MATTER. EVEN IN THE MIDST OF ALL THE GREAT VINTAGE MUSCLECARS, STREET RODS AND RACE CARS, THE PROWLER HELD ITS OWN. Later on in a hotel parking lot (that looked like another car show) the hotel concierge (who was an attractive woman), walked over to me. I thought she was going to tell me to GET THAT PROWLER OUT OF THEIR LOT since it didn't belong there with all of the great musclecars and street rods parked there. My car is almost 14 years old and now has over 70,000 miles on her and yet she is STILL SEXY AFTER ALL THESE YEARS!! |

ChiTownProwler, we are owners of one of only 616 Inca gold Prowlers made by Chrysler and regardless of what anyone else says, we know it is the best color out there. Prowl on! |

Did you expect anything less??? Do you really think the Inca is not respected here? I like the Inca (more than a couple of colors in particular I'm not so fond of). More importantly, if you like it, that's all that matters!!! |

I do not know of anyone on this site showing disrespect for the Inca. I am proud of all the colors. |

I enjoyed the story but do not understand the comment "(the color that ALLEGEDLY gets no respect - at least on this site). Can you cite some examples of this? This message has been edited by BeWare on 06-16-2015 at 10:54 AM |

My Kat is still sitting in the garage waiting for my knee replacement to bend a little more before we can get out on the road again (maybe two weeks more). I always get lots of attention, waves, thumbs up and photos taken when we cruise, but she (my Kat) still brings a smile to my face even when I raise the garage door and she is sitting in the dark looking mean and ready to prowl. |

I don't wanna start any firestorms here but since ya'll asked, I will say this: Over the years I have seen many negative comments towards the Inca Gold color. I've never understood it and never made any mention of it to any of those making the statements. I honestly don't know how one can measure the popularity of one color against the other but "it is what it is". The most BLATANT and recent example (that I've seen) is on "The Prowler Store" website, where it boldly states that the Inca Gold color is the LEAST POPULAR PROWLER COLOR. The reason I threw the little barb in my story is to show "the color haters" that in a world of so many vehicles painted maroon, gray, white or black, a car painted a hot gold stands out - LOUDLY and PROUDLY. And people DO take notice...and they like it!! |

Be glad it was called Inca Gold. It was scheduled to be called Aztec Gold but the journalists at the long lead press ride and drive were all talking about how ugly the Pontiac Aztek was and that "butt ugly" cars would be replaced by "Aztek ugly". The name was changed the same day. A little bit of unknown and mostly forgotten history. |
