The VIN number should be obtained form this vehicle if at all possible and posted on this site. Many unscrupulous individuals will try to repair the damage and never submit a carfax report. Thats correct carfax relies on volunteer information sent to them, it is not required by law and most body shops do not submit the paper work. Happened to me so I have first hand experience.

Personally, I think CarFax is worthless. As you stated, the info that they do have is all voluntarily sent to them and so there is no guarantee that it is all inclusive....Furthermore, their disclosure says that they are not responsible for ANYTHING in, OR MISSING from their report...

If it's free, I'll read it but I ain't payin' for it and I'd be mad as Hell if info on that rag (that is near impossible to have corrected or deleted) caused me to have to sell my car for less than it's worth...(JMO)

(Kind of reminds me of the fellow who made a fortune selling Pet Rocks)

Looks like the right bumper is tweaked also. Might be more underlying damage that can not be seen.

Right on BJ. When I look for cars I do pull a car fax because if it was dealer maintained it will show up, it does help some. I do notice damage that was repaired most of the time and 99% of the time it never shows up on car fax. Used car buyer beware.

While I always tell 'retail ' customers that CarFax is Worthless...it is actually useful to certain dealers, because they can buy damaged/repaired vehicles for cheap , show the 'clean' carfax to the customer, and get top $ for it. Happens all the time at dealer auctions.
But I do disagree that all their info is 'sent' to them...they actually do check DMV, insurance, and manufacturer's records for info.

I removed that foam.
But that's cause we'll be fiberglassing the door interior.
