...spent the early part of the day at the beach, later part of the day at a car show taking pictures, lots of pictures, ...I love car photography, any kind of car(they don't move like kids and pets), but Prowlers are especially photogenic for some reason...do you take plenty of pictures of your Prowler ? ...years ago we had Foto Contests, some absolutely amazing entries, some not so amazing but everyone had lots of fun, but the main idea was to help those less skilled become better ...how about some of you good photographers sharing tips to the rest of us, maybe this spring we could have another Foto Contest, prizes could bring you fame and fortune(or not)...it was a lot of fun in the past...if there is any interest, post here |

One thing I've noticed, for me anyway, is the prowler shoots better from down low or up high. It seems, at standing height, I get plain results. When taking a front shot that is pointed off to one side, the wheels always look better, turned away from the camera as opposed to towards it.Others might not agree but this has been my experience. Also, a High Dynamic Range mode is fun to play with, especially if you are doing post work on photoshop or some other manipulating software. |

Shooting the picture is all about 'centering the picture and background'.....I'm still a rookie compared to brother Bell.

Back of what cat?! Just needs to zoom in a bit more! Should there be a "no photoshop" rule, or does "anything go"? This message has been edited by StingRay on 03-05-2015 at 06:49 AM |

I'm an amateur photographer, but I love taking pics of my cats. Have lots of pics, but to take new ones will have to wait until the snow is gone!!! lol! ......and I don't know how to photoshop, so what you see is what I got!!!! Yes, we get potholes, but we aren't the only state that does........ |

You're forgiven for not centering the Kat in this picture, A/C.......I heard that you were actually filming the ground cover and not the Kat (nor even Lethia) since neither of you had ever seen green grass before and you wanted to show the gringo neighbors back in the desert of Mesa what it looked like......

good morning... ...those who were not here for previous Foto Contests, the rules are very loose, it's more about fun, seeing other peoples Prowlers, and hopefully helping each other become better photographers...I choose the winner and send the prize, very informal ...weather permitting, it will start April 1st and run until May 31st, giving you 60 days to take new pix of your car and sometime shortly after, the winner / winners will be announced ...since photo enhancing has become such a big thing we will probably have a couple of catagories, please keep in mind the idea for the contest just hit me last night while at a car show, I'll work out the details before the start...again, this is mainly to help some get a better idea how to take pix of their Prowlers and to have fun ...for now, even if your Kat is buried in snow up the mirrors be thinking WHERE you Prowler could be photographed to make it look its best, colors, backgrounds or lack of backgrounds etc etc ...one last thought, if you are unable to post pix or haven't learned how to post pix here, someone will help you get them posted on the contest board...least of your worries, don't be intimidated by this step at all ...more later |

Larry Great idea, I'm always looking for photo shoot locations and have some very good pictures of my car, but one of my favorites wasn't on the nice sunny day but a rainy day and dirty car, but it doesn't look dirty in the shot I don't know if we have a better Photographer here than Larry Bell, great shots, well balanced and clean, more like the pros, you have taken the pointers from the pros and put them in your work. I don't have a photoshop program anymore, most pictures I take are on Sues Sony compact camera, but I do have a good Rebel, but need new battery and want a better lens. This could be something also for Jim to get involved in and the winners are in a 2016 Prowler Calendar, so the 13 BEST make the calendar I like the idea ------------------ |

quote: No offense AC but sorry not sure I can do that, I will be driving it till my foot falls off. I am so tired of looking at it, summer can not get here soon enough. I have been working on it for two weeks, should be done over the weekend. I still have 2 dump trucks to go through yet. There is a frost heave next to my Mothers house that is so big they have put up all kinds of signage and blinking yellow lights. It would take out the complete nose of the Prowler. |

Ed,,,That is a cell phone tower... Verizon pays me $137 month for the location.. Cell towers here have to be camouflaged to preserve the pristine look of the natural desert surroundings. |
