Do you have a "Do Not Touch" sign for your Prowler? Do you think they are effective or do you think that it encourages a negative attitude to those who are looking at your car and would encourage them to "touch" it? ------------------ The Prowler makes you smile. Why? Because it's focused. It has a plot, a reason for being, a passion. It evokes the hot rod. It evokes the American Dream. This car is the human psyche.

No sign. I figure it's understood. That said, children are more apt to want to touch. I usually don't make much of it. |

I don't have one for my Kat. Personally I would like to think most folks attending a car related event or cruise in would have enough respect for another persons vehicle to keep their hands off... But then again I have seen some really inconsiderate idiots fondling other folks vehicles, knocking on the body to see if it is steel or fiberglass, rubbing or leaning on them, sometimes it is simply disgusting how thoughtless some people can be. I don't think having a sign posted on the car makes that much of a difference one way or another. Once in a while when I see someone show a particular interest in my car, I sometimes start a conversation. If they are taking photo's of it, I offer to close the hood and ask if they would like a photo of them sitting behind the wheel. Sometimes is simply makes their day. All I ask is that they check their pockets for anything that may damage the seats. This message has been edited by alrtg on 10-23-2014 at 11:57 AM |

where you gonna put it so that it can be read at every possible point that the car could be touched? "Oh, I didn't see the sign" says the idiot adult. Kids, that's another thing, and then you look to the parent who allowed it. No sign ... think it "invites" touching or shows off arrogance. JMO |

I would put on, if you are at a car show and step away from your Prowler. Some reason people like sitting on the fenders of the Prowler while getting their picture taken. I seen these signs on cars while at car shows, kids love touching things, with their sticky candy hands. Every time I see kids coming towards my car with sticky candy hands, I act as the bouncer to the car. Step in front of the car. |

I encourage the touching So seriously I want people to sit in it and take pictures because the more people who fall in love with it like we did will only further the future of the car. Maybe even the price. |

What I was going to do was make one that says "Please respect my car. Thank you!" If I am at a car show, I watch carefully. I do let people sit it in, especially kids. However, I am helping them in and out of the car. My bigger concern is that when I'm not with it. I've seen what people do. The first event I took my brand new Candy car to was the first Prowlin' the Rockies event. There was an evening meet and greet at the hotel and we had several cars on display on the patio. One was my new Candy. A Prowler owner leaned over the door of my car and put a nice scratch on the door with his belt buckle. Would have thought an owner would have known better. |

...no signs here ...many many years ago I was at a local event with a freshly painted 1969 Dodge Daytona, hood open...lady walks up and places her purse on the nose of the car, takes out several items including a huge ring of keys and lays the keys on the fender while she searched for something else in her huge bag of trix...I asked her nicely to remove the keys from the fender, she cussed me...I asked her again a little louder to please remove the items from the front of my car, especially the ring of keys...she ignored me, so I carefully picked up the ring of keys and threw them over the roof of the diner into a creek, she came freakin UNGLUED, called me an Azzhole...I quietly walked away with a big smile on my face ...later, she had someone come and get her because she couldn't drive her car with no keys, LOL This message has been edited by tangled up in BLUE on 10-23-2014 at 08:44 PM |

Me also! I have a sign I put on my windshield that says, "Yes, you may touch my car, and yes you may sit in my car and take pictures, but no, you can not drive it." I also hand out die cast models to kids that show an interest. That makes my day. quote: |

I was at a big show this summer. I was out walking the exhibits in a building, quite a ways from my car. Unbeknownst to me, it had started to rain heavily. When I realized it was raining, I ran back to my, top down Prowler, worrying the whole time. When I arrived, I saw that a group of people, from a nearby exhibit, had picked up an easy-up shelter and walked it over on top of my car to keep it dry. So good things do happen at car shows from strangers. By the way, that day, a thousand cars could no longer say "never seen rain" lol. |

Posting a politically correct sign while at a car show may help. As noted by others, common courtesy should suffice. Problem is its not taught much today. I for one keep my hands behind my back and I keep my belly at a safe distance when viewing nice cars. I believe most people today only consider cars something you have to own to get around. Passion is waning on the automobile. |
