I will be taking my Prowler to Florida sometime in December. Will then probably keep in Florida. As we all know the Summer months down South can be brutal! Has anyone setup their garage to include AC (Air Conditioning)? Is it something that should be done. Any Advantages or Dis-advantages to doing it. How about costs to install and cost to run? Any comments and suggestions welcomed! |

In Florida,,,I'd think you would need a dehumidifier more than an A/C unit for one Prowler storage.... Maybe some lizard,,,snake,,, and gator traps as well, lol. |

hi Pierre had the prowler for three years in Florida....no ac in the garage....no specials things done....only issue was battery...tenders killed the batteries, went to a disconnect battery switch at the terminal...easy to install...i was told by the place I got new battery that it is just as bad as being in the cold up north...Car loved the heat, not a daytime driver with the top down...great at night..the car was covered for 3 to 4 months at a time in the garage... no snakes, alligators or creatures..lol Good luck frank |

AC and Frank, My concern was whether the Heat and Humidity would affect the Rubber or Foam items in the Prowler. Whether or not they would dry up. The disconnect battery switch may be worth it. I have a disconnect battery switch in my Cobra up North here. I like to use it when I'm away. Anyone else with comments - love to hear them! |

My Kat has been in Florida for 12 years and no problems with the foam or rubber parts. Also kept in a garage with NO AC. |

the florida heat and humidity WILL take its toll on plastic and rubber parts over time...that being said, i keep a dehumidifier in the garage ....it does seem to help. but given the florida weather.....as opposed to the chicago winter weather......well......its a no brainer! |

Have lived in FL 23 years and have owned our 2000 Plymouth Prowler for 14 years and no problems whatsoever with the vehicle stored in a non A/C garage. We have plans to A/C the garage only for personal comfort while working on the cat. |

To be sure, there are a lot hotter places than Florida such as the SW US. In the 27 years that I have been here I have had my Corvair in a non AC garage with no problems. The Prowler is also doing fine. Might be a good idea to use a dehumidifier. |

Thanks for all your posts. I feel a lot better about storing the car in Florida. I will look into doing a dehumidifier and a disconnect battery switch. This site has the answers to any questions asked! Pierre |

Back on 09-04-2014 12:21 AM phil2237 posted the following. "Those modules can be easily damaged by letting the battery go down, Just like your home computer. Get a battery maintainer & leave it hooked up when the car is not being used. It will save you a lot of money in the long run." I don't know if using a battery disconnect switch will have an adverse affect on the computers or not. It may be wise to do further research just to be on the safe side. |

I have a car in Florida and bought a battery cut off switch for it and it works perfect, I disconnect the battery for 6-7 months at a time and so far for the last 3 years the car starts right up . the car is not in a garage |
