That is the car George Maxie did maybe 10 years ago It has been passed around a lot since he completed it. Guy in MO owned it for awhile that I knew. Have never seen it in person but would like to

I'd be careful with this car. Both airbags have been removed. Great show car but might not be suitable for the street. |

Seeing that it is in the Houston area and never heard of them, I googled the company and found they have an "F" rating by the BBB, and not a stellar rating by some customers. While I have no personal knowledge of them, and the Prowler looks great, caution seems to be in order. Just FYI. |

Jay and I have seen George several times in the past year. He looked better than ever and I barely recognized him except for his trademark beard. It's hard to believe the price of his former car today as compared to what it sold for in 2009 at Barrett Jackson Vegas. http://www.barrett-jackson.com/Archive/Event/Item/2000-PLYMOUTH-PROWLER-CUSTOM-ROADSTER-79589 |

It's not just Prowlers regarding the resale value. Virtually every heavily personalized vehicle cost a ton of money to build the way the owners wants it. Someone else doesn't have the same vision and won't pay the money. Same thing for highly identified hot rods. Win a high profile show and the car is always identified as "so and so's Ridler winner. |

I have seen this car in person several times. The first time I saw it, it was still street legal or at least George was driving it at the time. That was back in 2003. It is an amazing car but likely not street legal due to no air bags. Still the car is a bargain at that price. George had fenders on it at one time. I wonder if they are now MIA. I preferred it with the front fenders on. The marble effect paint is awesome but hard to see in photos. This message has been edited by BeWare on 08-22-2014 at 10:11 AM |
