Prowler rear speaker box was not made of wood and as for the broken Glass I would say the window was broken at some time as for the wires some one might have had a different amp and speakers than came with the car .. Bring the car down and I will give You some help fixing it ... |

Those cut straps look possibly to be hold downs for conv. roof when down. Are yours present? |

The cut straps are those that are used to strap down the top when it is stored in the trunk. They prevent the top from moving and causing wear. The small thin wires go to the defroster in the back window. The cable behind the seat is either for the CD changer that was behind the seat or the amp which was under the seat. The wooden speaker enclosure is custom. Your missing yellow trunk release button is attached to the trunk lid. |

I can't believe Chrysler Corp made a wooden box to mount the speakers. I haven't heard of wood in a car since the early 40s. Somebody has butchered up the section trying to look like a custom modification. I'd head towards Jim Suttons offer in Ocala,Florida. Just my opinion. |

Sometimes restoring a car is a big part of the enjoyment of owning it. I've restored several over the years as a hobby. Everyone doesnt have the ability to restore a car. Anybody can just go buy one. |

This is what your car should have looked like. The plastic like backed cover on top of the wood enclosure on your car is factory. When that cover is removed on a Prowler this is what it should have looked like underneath. Right next to the date on this picture you can see one of the top hold down straps that were cut on your car. Those hold down straps being cut would explain some of the top damage you showed in one of your other videos. When down your top is bouncing in the trunk causing wear. This picture was taken from the below discussion in 2003. This message has been edited by BeWare on 05-27-2014 at 11:54 AM |

Thank you all for the responses. Glad I was not going crazy. I'm laying sound damper back there today and prepping area for custom subwoofer box so I'll go ahead and throw this wooden box away now since its not needed anymore. Many thanks guys |
