For those that are interested in the ISimple ISCH72 conversion to eliminate you're CD player and be able to use your IPod/IPhone to listen to all of that wonderful music we have been saving for years. Many of us have been trying to purchase this item for the last few years only to find out that they are no longer available from ISimple. With a few good leads from fellow members I found an answer. IcarKits.com. You will not find an application listed for a Prowler. After many conversions with their tech people and using the ISCH72 number they convinced me to order an ISCH72 and give it a try. They said if it didn't work, send it back. Four days later I had it. Now here is the trick when you order. Order an ISCH72 but you need an interface cable. So this is how you know what cable to order. If your radio face is square in the corners you need a PXHCCH1, if the corners are round you need a PXHCH2. The cost for both pieces is $99.00 and free shipping. By the way, the item you receive has the ISimple name on it. Explain that. You can install in ten minutes and it is one of the most enjoyable changes I have made on the car. Unplug your CD at the CD player and plug in your interface cable, set the interface code to 1,4,8 plug in your IPod/IPhone and enjoy. Controls on the steering wheel and radio work just like before or you can control from your IPod/iPhone. By the way, it is also a charger and the sound in much better than before. You will not be disappointed. Good luck and enjoy. |

Purchased mine several months ago finially got around to the install today. (just too many things on my to do list). Install was extremely easy but it doesn't work. Radio goes back and forth between AM and FM when the mode button is pressed but it doesn't recognize the IPod. At first the iPod showed that it was charging then I got a message on the pod that I was not using an approved charger. I will call the company to see if theyhave any suggestions. -- |

Does this mod work only with an IPod or any brand name of MP3 player can be used with the system? |

This is for an iPod only. I don't know if they make another model that would be for any MP3. You would have to call the company. Probably not because the name of the company is isimple. The phone number on the manual is (866) 788-4237. Or (support@isimplesolutions.com) |

I called the company today. They said that if the cable physically plugs in then I have the right one. Yes, I did set the code. They told me to unplug the unit and cycle each of the switches 3 times (on then off) I will try again tonight and see if it works. |

Tried again. Still no good. Don't know what I'm doing wrong. It's so simple that I don't think that is anything that I could be doing wrong. I will call them again tomorrow. |

I went to radio shop, they themselves couldn't get it to work. So I had to buy a new modern radio. |

Did you have the same problem that I am describing? I'm pretty sure there are many others on this forum that got it to wok without a problem. |

Disconnect the ipod and see if it still ONLY shows AM & FM or if it shows a third choice. |

I will try this evening. Ed, I read one of your old posts on this subject. If I understand correctly , you had two round plugs that were similar. Did they both physicals plug in? If so they gave me the wrong info. They told that there is only one that will plug in. Thanks for your help Paul |

Paul, I sent you a PM. You definitely have the wrong cable. They both look exactly the same but the one you need has bigger pins that allow it to make contact. Does your radio have square corners or round. If they are square you need a PXHCH1, If they are round you need a PXHCH2. Give me a call if you need further help. Phone number in PM. Joe |

He couldn't get the iPod connected. What I am remembering. But it did look like this was his first time doing this. I could tell when he was at a loss at some of the steps. quote: |

If I recall correctly initially I plugged in the wrong cable and it would not play the iPod. After re-reading the directions I figured out I had the wrong cable and plugged in the correct one. Voila, music! They had sent me several cables which all basically looked the same. |

Called isimple again today. They weren't much help because they didn't have a listing for the Prowler. The white box that I have is a PXDP. They told me that there is only one interface so that item should be correct. Hopefully that information is correct. I did a little digging and found the receipt for the cable that I purchased back in Jan. The receipt says at I have a PXHCH2. The cable itself does not have a number. Only says 2000-2001 Chrysler. According to derosaj I have the wrong cable. My radio is square and the PXHCH2 is for the round radio. Once again isimple wasn't much help because they told me that if physically plugs in it has to be correct. So I have to purchase a PXHCH1 for the square front radio. Thank you to everyone for all of their help. Next time I won't wait 5 months to do a install. Just too cold back in January to be tinkering in the garage. |

Sent you a PM. The ISimple people know nothing about their own product. They say it is no longer made and not available. When you order from iCarKits .com they sell you an ISCH72 and it comes with the ISimple name on it and instructions. Give Chase a call at 1-800-983-3152 and tell him you need a CH2 cable for a Chrysler 95-99 harness. They probably will charge you for it because you didn't purchase from them but you will be happy. Have a good one. |

To the best of my knowledge there was NO option regarding the radio in our cars. I do know that on the earlier cars (maybe 1997 & 1999) they did not have that rocker switch on the right side above the power outlet. My 2000's radio looks just like yours. |

SORRY my mistake. You need a CH1. To many CH1 and CH2 bouncing around in this old head Look at your picture you posted and you can see clearly that you have a square corner radio. Keep us informed. |

Any problems may be due to an older generation Ipod. One of my cars had problems interfacing an older touch and had to get an adapter from Scoishe. |

Problem solved. Exchanged the CH2 cable for a CH1. I purchased the wrong cable back in January from carplayer.com on ebay. Not their fault. Called them last week & they exchanged it no questions asked. They didn't even charge me for shipping. Highly recommend them. For those who do not know. Isimple is the manufacturer of the product. As someone else on this site said, they don't even know their own product. They are the ones that told me to purchase the CH2 cable back in January. When I called them last week they told me that if it physically plugs in it has to be the correct one. Wrong again. With the help of others on this site I decided to give the CH1 cable a try. Such an easy install that I couldn't imagine that I was doing something wrong. Plugged in the new cable & turned on the #1,4 & 8 switches on the little white box (also known as a PXDP). The radio never sounded so good. Better quality than the CD. FYI the CH2 (wrong cable) said 2000-2001 Chrysler. The correct cable (CH1) said 1995-1999 Chrysler. My car is a 2001 so the tag on the wire is not correct when it comes to Prowlers. I'm not 100% sure but I would guess that all Prowlers would take the CH1 cable. |
