I bought my Prowler on the 16th of this month. I asked how the seller (exotic car dealer)wanted to be paid. They said they prefered a Cashiers check. I told them I could do that or give them cash if they wanted it in order to release the title to me.They said bring a Cashiers check. At the closing of the deal they said the company policy was to hold the title 10 working days. Today was the tenth working day according to them. They gave me a FedEx tracking number for the title. It will be here LATE friday evening which means I can't register the car until the 6th of may. That's 20 days!! I've never heard of this before and I've bought alot of cars. I don't think they had the title. I think all their cars are on consignment. Comments?

I bought mine 8 years ago using a cashiers check. The bank would not release the title until the check cleared. When I questioned them on this policy they said cashiers checks can be counterfeited. I asked them to call my bank and confirm it was legit and they refused.

It's getting hard to buy cars unless it's at a local dealer or from someone you know. Everybody is so afraid of a scam. Almost any pay method can be a scam. I sold a antique 38 chevy on ebay and it got really tense. Both of us were afraid of the other one. We ended up doing a wire transfer from bank to bank. When the seller holds the title for a long time ,I get nervous. I start think bankrupcy.
