you cannot buy the ball joint alone, you must buy the whole control arm,if its not discontinued.

Jan isn't FOS this time. You had to buy the whole arm assembly when they performed the recall on the lower ball joints.
Do you need uppers? Lowers? Or both?

Dear fiing *******, when you pyhooya, do your own search on here and post back if anyone out there has ever found, located, and/or purchased any front ball joints by themselves without the arm attached to them. I know for a fact that several purchased them to do the recall work themselves. NOW who's the fiing *******?

Thanks for the help. The lower ball joints are for my 1997 model. The local Chrysler dealer quoted $2500-00 for each of the lower control arms. What is the recall kit ? and is it applicable to my car ? I have a friend in Los Angeles who can buy the relevant parts if any one can suggest either a part number or appropriate dealer to go to.

I believe when I purchased my polished a-arms from a guy in PA, butchee he gave me a few boxes of ball joints in case.

I better hurry up and send my original a-arms and knuckles to Gary for chroming before he retires...

Has the ball joint recall been done on your Prowler yet?

If it has not been done you should be able to get them replaced for free. (I assume the 97's were recalled for ball joint replacement as were the later years)

If you are unsure if the recall has already been done call a Chrysler dealership and give them the VIN number...They can tell you instantly.

.....Or go to this website and check for the recall on line:

You're on a bit of a roll today. See at least 4 threads where you're piling on just to start trouble. Too many to comment on but your average is very high in this area. So helpful are you.

Thanks for all the wonderful help and leads guys - it's much appreciated and I've got new ones on the way. The Chrysler dealers here are shocking for misleading women.

Well I'm a woman owner and I don't let them get away with anything. You just have to be informed. This site is a wealth of info and help from the owners
