Apart from the pictures and mechanical specs on this beauty, available on the web, does anyone have any interesting tidbits of info or stories about it? |

Yes, it was black ... and had a more functional trunk. It also began with an "H" instead of a "Pr" ... |

I think its a beautiful car. Did they ever make any? I found this on eBay http://www.ebay.com/itm/Chrysler-Howler-Diecast-Model-Car-Black-1-18-Scale-Motormax-New-Box-/110969498708?pt=Action_Figures_Diecast_US&hash=item19d64c2c54 |

Thanks CJ. I have done that and learned a lot. I was hoping to find someone who worked on it or with it. Someone with some insight into it. |

They made one. Here is a pic of it in the museum. Currently it is in hiding. |

Shifted smoothly, lots of torque with the V-8. Didn't drive it hard just drove it around the complex. It was a show car, not a toy. |

Bob, My wife and I were at the 2011 Woodward Dream Cruise and I know you worked for Chrysler. If it isn,t too personal tell us what you were involved with in your career with them. |

I was the sales and marketing representative on the Prowler Team from before the program was approved until the decision was made to end production. Jerry was actually on the Team on a day-to-day basis as a development engineer. |

I have a Howler go kart. I had a body shop friend do the custom body with the top. You can't get in it to drive but it is a great display piece. Mine is purple though not black and matches my Prowler kart. |

Yes I have lots of pictures with both karts together and each kart separate. The Howler has a 15 horsepower motor the Prowler has a smaller 8 horsepower motor. I will get them scanned and posted. I believe the Howler kart is the only one in existence. I may be wrong but I have never seen or heard of another. I invested over $5000,00 having the Howler kart made. The frame was custom made and a Byrd Prowler body was used as a base for making the Howler kart. It took about 4 months to get the body exactly right. My fiberglass guy was very patient but did mention he would never do another. The top was a nightmare to make. I am in the process now of having a kart made with the delivery body. Doubt it will be ridable but another nice display piece. It seems to be going easier than the Howler kart, we started from scratch and didn't use a pre existing body. This one we will be painting Kandy Red with flames. I will post pictures of the Howler soon and the delivery kart when finished. Probably after the holidays. |
