If I was in the market of getting a used hard top Gen 2, what would be a price they would go for . And if I dont get my color, how much would it cost to repaint it. Thank you as always |

I paid 2900. from Prowler Store and cost to paint 300. at my local Chevy dealership. That's base coat/clear coat and it's perfect. Headliner matches interior so I'm pleased and I did much research on topic. |

You got it right before the price increase, good job. And 300 to paint was a very fair price. quote: |

Thanx, actually you can get them right now for 2795. unprimed and 2900. primed which is what I chose. I was quite surprised at 300. to paint but I've had 2 cars painted there in the past 18 mos. so perhaps that's why. Also anyone who gets their bumpers painted should shop around. Had an extra set painted in silver and they told me 100.. I gave them 200. as I felt guilty at only 100. Entire cars are expensive though. |

Did you pick it up or have it shipped cause I see almost 500 in shipping costs? quote: |

It was 495. to ship. P/S charges 700. to have it painted so you can save quite a bit on the paint. It comes ready to paint so there's not much to it. Seems like it's well made but only time will tell. |

if you do any paint work on a vehicle, all exterior trim must be r/i-remove and install, for a quality job.on a hardtop, rear glass and mldg seals and channels and all other exterior parts next to the paint,if you dont remove them the clear down the road will peel and look like crap and you will have to paint again.the guy who paid 300, i dont believe they r and i anything.with base and clear, its mandatory, you will have a much nicer job and cleaner and no peeling jmo. ------------------ |

That's a really good point Jan and you're right. I've had alot of work done there and they're probably giving me good price. I've had two trailers painted and they disassemble the whole thing and paint all parts seperately for the very reason you point out. Had a Camaro done and the same thing. Stripped it right down to bare metal. Top was done same way. I haven't actually put top on but plan to soon with cold weather coming so we'll see how it fits. |

The hardtops at the prowler store are not a Gen 1 or Gen 2 top. Those were TGF tops and no longer made. The prowler store tops are cheaper tops both in price and quality from the few reviews I've read. Shop price on shipping also. Try DHL. I think they were the cheapest when I bought. Paid about $250ish I think. If you get one of the prowler store tops I hope it fits well and that you're happy with it. |
