My artist came by my house a little more than a week ago and took pictures of my Prowler.

Today he sent me a first draft of his idea.
I don't really like the light aqua color, but I might get used to it.

He decided to use the vent as a starting point (as you can see).

Please post comments and criticisms.

I like the idea of using the vent as a starting point. Not loving the colors he chose. The zztop logo is cool!

Are you trying to copy the ZZ Top Eliminator?

I wouldn't say I am trying to copy the ZZ Top Eliminator, but it is where the idea originated.

Bear in mind it is only a starting point.

The design is not bad at all. Need to experiment with a few more colors. Maybe red, white, & blue?

Hmmm...I like the design with the colors, but not on the yellow. I'm not sure that the design fits the character of the car as you have already modified it.

Perhaps flames coming from the vents instead???

If you like it, that's the important thing.

I'm with ya on the flames CJ, however if I remember correctly I believe flames were not an option for Terry

I am not artistic at all so it is hard for me to visualize anything. The car is all rounded curves, smooth flowing lines. I don't think the 90 degree turns in that design go with the rest of the car.
I don't think any of those colors go with the yellow, either.
Cut down on some of the angles and pick different colors and it might work great.

Maybe try a ghost image of the ZZs with different shades of yellow. More subtle like.

I have no taste!

With that said I don't like the Aqua or the blue in the 2nd shot. As menthioned above the squared off lines may have an adverse affect too.

Again I have no taste. Best of luck and don't be afraid to be picky, you only get one shot at this and you'll have to live with it for awhile.

Given the cart blanch that (I recall you gave him) I was thinking something much more alive then what you have so far.

Why not do this as a decal instead of paint, so you can change or remove whenever you like.

like the zz top idea but thinking the design might look better lower down and not involving the vent... In the end its important to get the colors right.... get some input fron the artist... just my opinions

Maybe use the design using black, white and silver (or chrome).

All comments are welcome.
I'm going to ask my artist to combine some thin body line like curves with the pattern.

I tend to believe that less colors might be worth a try (the black, white, and silver idea)

I like where you're headed
just don't think that the vent should touch the graphic. The colors are really gonna be what you prefer; the idea of yellow or complementary colors to yellow sounds interesting.

Thanks for asking

...my opinion for what it's worth

...I like the design for the most part although it reminds me instantly of ZZ Top, I like it incorporated with the vents, but I would prefer it in yellow ghost images so the design doesn't slap you in the face...a very subtle ghost image would look great...also, if you do the graphix, you should dump the black plastic fender protectors as they make it look very busy from the side view

...GHOST, GHOST, GHOST...

...my choice, dump the whole side graphix idea, loose the black plastic fender protectors and "clean it up"...sometimes, "less is more"

Sometime color might not sound like they would work but do. My yellow has purple maroon blue, orange, charcoal, white and black. At 1st was not sure of the purple, till I seen a custom painted Harley in yellow with purple graphics. The blue was to be teal, but he got blue Chromalussion instead

If that is what you are thinking, I would go with Vinyl graphics, if you don't like it or want to sell the car easy to remove.

Even a complete wrap can look good, then peel off.

If I ever go to sell my car hope someone likes it as much as me. We decided not to personalize it with some of the things that would be harder to find a buyer. Simple graphics, no signs, cartoons or gas station art.

I wanted flames, Sue didn't, glad we didn't flame it now with all the cars with flames. Mine has them and I love it, but only small air brushed flames.

What it comes down to is what you like. Seen some custom paint and give credit for the talent it took to do, but not my taste, others that I thought what the hell, but grew on me. So it is you car surprise us!

Couldn't agree more. I know these things are all personal choice, but graphics painted on cars are kind of like a tattoo, you better like it because it's going to be expensive to get rid of it. Also, if you ever want to sell the car, be aware you will greatly limit your number of prospective buyers to people with your taste in design or are willing to pay to have it stripped and repainted.

I'll get flamed for this but here's a few bad ideas I've collected over the years. The last one is unforgivable.

I asked the artist to try your suggested color combination
