Well after many years of looking for the right Prowler, Price and Condition wise, I had stopped seriously looking, only to find it 1/2 a mile from my house on a buy here/pay here lot. At first I had driven by for a week or two scoffing at it, as I assumed for it to be on that type of lot, it must have some serious damage, engine issues, or flooded at some time. One weekend day, being bored and realizing in all the time I drove past it, it seemed to be in nice condition on the exterior, i decided to stop for a look. To my amazement, not only was it very nice on the exterior but, also in the interior and engine compartment as well. Car-Fax listed only 1 minor accident to the front end 8 years ago (which was consistent with the only damage I saw outside (Front driver fender and rim), there was minor wear to the interior (better than expected on a 10 year old car)and 42,000 miles (yes I know that is considered a bit high for a prowler but still a solid number) I took it for a test drive with my fingers crossed and to my joy, found the ride smooth, the steering true and the engine purring. Acceleration was there with no miss in performance, braking was solid and turned on a dime. There was not rattling, squealing, or shuddering. Needles to say, several hours of negotiations later, I drove off the lot in my new baby for $25,400.00 Killian |

Welcome to the site Killian! Looks like you got a nice one there at a fair price. Just barely broken in. Always amazes me how 40,000 is considered by many to be high mileage on a prowler whereas any run of the mill car, it would be considered a demo lol. What's your first mod? |

Congratulations on your new Prowler and welcome to POA. You have a lot of enjoyment and fun to look forward to!! Just remember to smile a lot!! My USAF son was in special ops for five years and was stationed at the compound at Ft. Bragg. Spent quite a bit of time in Fayetteville!! ------------------ The Prowler makes you smile. Why? Because it's focused. It has a plot, a reason for being, a passion. It evokes the hot rod. It evokes the American Dream. This car is the human psyche.

A fairly inexpensive mod is the infinity spoiler... Russell has one on his yellow as do I... great look at a decent price but you will need to drill holes.. http://www.prowleronline.com/ubb/Forum6/HTML/008913.html |

I do like the spoiler a lot and had been considering one. How are they with the removal of the existing 3rd brake light? Will the new spoiler cover that or do you need to plug it? This message has been edited by Killian on 10-03-2012 at 10:03 AM |

quote: You can leave the brake light on but you will have to raise the Infinity spoiler about 1/2" to clear it. Or you can get the Infinity spoiler with an integral 3rd brake light but you will have to cover the 5 holes in the lid when you remove the OEM brake light. I would make up a bolt-on cover of some sort. Also be aware that the Infinity spoiler is not a perfect fit on the prowler. You will have to fabricate some tapered foot pads to match the contour of the lid. |

Hmmm in that case I think I will stay with an offer I have on a yellow Air Patrol/Smoked glass for the rear until I am a little more sure of what I am doing Thanks for the advice. Killian |

Mine fit good without any adjustments.. I removed the stock 3rd brake light and covered the holes with small plastic stick-on discs... the holes are under the spoiler so hard to see... This message has been edited by xtreme prowler on 10-04-2012 at 03:53 AM |
