As you know, for the last two years, the members of POA have participated in the Walter P. Chrysler Museum's Adopt-A-Vehicle program. The Museum is very appreciative and are looking forward to our renewing the adoption of the 1997 Plymouth Prowler that is displayed there.

The renewal for the Prowler adoption is coming up in October, so I am asking you to, again, help with the fee with voluntary donations for the adoption of the 1997 Plymouth Prowler. The renewal cost for the year will be the same as last year - $450.00 which helps to support the museum in the maintenance and care of the vehicles on display. The Prowler is the only vehicle in the Museum that is allowed to be sat in and touched.

Many of you that have attended events here such as the Woodward Dream Cruises and the Prowler 10th Anniversary Celebration have visited the Museum and enjoyed their collection of vehicles.

You can see in the picture what the adoption sign says and it is placed at the bottom of the Prowler kiosk which has the Prowler history. The only thing that will change on the sign is the adoption dates.

If you would like to be one of the “proud parents”, please send a check, money order or PayPal in the amount you would like to donate towards the adoption.

As a side note, the Museum is having their 3rd Annual Trunk or Treat Halloween event on October 21. This is a great time for all the adults and parents who attend. The most exciting thing for the kids/parents is being able to sit in the Prowler and have a photo taken by a museum photographer. They are then able to download the photo from the Museum website. Of course, they are also able to take their own. As in the past two years, I am responsible for creating a Halloween "scene" around the Prowler (which also includes having the kiosk nearby). Our club should be proud that they have adopted it and that the funds are able to keep it well maintained.

Since the Museum is independent and a non-profit, the annual car adoptions really help them. This is the fourth year that owners here have adapted the Prowler. Thanks to between twelve and twenty owners for their continuing annual support.

However, we hope that a number of owners that haven't supported the adoption in the past will consider contributing. CJ has worked to keep this a group effort. Many of you have visited the Museum while here for Dream Cruise and enjoyed what it has to offer. The Museum was a huge supporter of the Prowler 10th Anniversary party in 2007 which a lot of you attended.

The Museum is a 503 non-profit. Chrysler no longer owns the Museum since the bankruptcy. They have to support themselves which is a challenge in our difficult economy. The adoption program is one of their sources for helping the Museum.

We would appreciate it if you would make out the check to CJ as stated. We then are able to give the Museum one check from the club which is easier for them. In addition, because CJ and I are members it saves $50 of the annual adoption fee.
