I need HELP?

I do not know whether to buy a yellow 2000 prowler with 2700 miles on her or a 2001 Mulholland Edition with 3500 miles on her. I know of the mechanical and cosmetic differences thanks to this website but I am really struggling with this decision.

It's a coin toss. Whichever color you like better is the correct one unless you are aware of a particular problem with that particular car. You really can't lose, both will make you happy.

Mulholland is my second choice to a Black Tie. I had the choice of either one when I purchased mine. I liked the blue color of the mulholland and it had the blue convertible top which was special for the Prowler line.

My concerns would be with both, if the cars have dried out seals/gaskets they could be leakers after your first long drive.

Other then that you'll hear about one color being faster then the other but that's just for fun. As above whichever color you like best, whichever is closest to you and what feel you get for the owners themselves. Also find out what mods were done if any and what extras come with the car (luggage rack, bra etc).

Is it just my imagination or does the blue seem to take on different color depending upon the light source? I have seen a few blue ones on different websites and even a full length video on you tube and the colors seem to range from blue to a kind of purple/blue mix.

The mulholland seems a little more elegant and layed back and the yellow more for fun. But that's just me.

Yes it does. When I bought my Mulholland the dealer had it advertised as Purple. I tried to tell them it was Blue, but they weren't hearing it. I bought it anyway.

Can the side mirrors be easily removed. I am thinking of storing in my basement and have a six foot door to drive in?

the blue is a 3 stage color, thats why it changes in diff. lighting.to remove the mirrors you will have to remove the dr. trim panel to access the mirror bolts.to remove panel you will have to remove dr handle bezel, put a putty knife edge under frt and tap straight backwards, and it will pop off.donot break they are around 100.00 each.dont worry about metime comments on gaskets and seals,he has no idea what hes talking about.

When I remove the door handle bezel, I put the handle of a screw driver inside the back of bezel and tap the screwdriver with a hammer.

Hey Catfish, Me Time might be correct it depends alot on what conditions they have been stored, for if anything has dried out

IF I were looking strictly based on potential mechanical problems, I would buy the 2000 because it was assembled with Koni shocks all around while the 2001 was assembled with the Dynamic shocks which do not have a great track record.

However IF the Mulholland has the Koni shocks retrofitted all the way around, I would choose it because I prefer it to Yellow.

It depends on your personality.....the blue Prowler is more "laid back" and the yellow Prowler is more "in your face"! Either one will get more than a little attention everywhere you drive, but with the yellow you won't be able to sneak up on anyone.

prowler rubber seals and gaskets are made from premiumm rubber and will last at least 40 years our more, its not a gm with there sponge rubber seals, i have a dodge van that has seals on5 doors and 2 moveable side glasses and 2 vents,.have never been in a garage for 22 years and are perfect shape.prowlerseals and gaskets to not deteriorate eat all.will almost outlive us.it will not have dried out seals and gaskets.mopar body gaskets are the best, may be thats why some are so expensive.600.00 or more for the 6 side window gaskest.

Maybe you have no idea what you are talking about. Seems like metime is only trying to help.
Seems with your mechanical experience I just read on another post, you shouldn't be advising on repair issues period !

Just a note, Icar does NOT offer any kind of certification and they frown on people claiming to be "Icar certified".

They offer informational courses only, for people in the collision repair industry for which, some are given a certificate of completion. These can be as little as a 2 hour on-line course. They do not offer courses in "all aspects of automotive repair".

Just wanted to clear that up.

Only point I'll make is a darker color is tougher to keep. Otherwise Andria has made a good case with the Konis.

I don't have Konis on my 01 Orange or 02 Candy and have not had a problem with the rear shocks on either. The cars are 10 and 11 years old now.
Anything can happen to any car.

OK. Thanks for everyone's help. I went with the blue one since I am 48 years old and the yellow although really nice may be a bit much for me. My son would say otherwise but he is not paying for it. I really do appreciate the help and have wanted this car forever! I look forward to more constructive feedback and expertise from all you guys.

Again, thanks a million!

Any thoughts on what color I should have mine painted now that I am 63? Maybe grey with silver sides.
