We will be there next month. On a cruise ship. I agree it was a great time and we met some folks we had never met before. We can't make it this year, too much going on. |

Glad you enjoyed the trip in spite of the sub par weather that weekend. We missed out on the glass bottom boat cruise and that also altered the rest of that days plan. As I have a place in the Keys and am down there almost every month, I don't mind planning another trip. Had also looked into a trip to Fort Myers and/or Sarasota as there are a number of things to see and do there. Let me know when is a good time for everyone. Also, has anyone heard from Wally? I e-mailed him a few weeks ago but have not gotten a reply. In fact have not heard from him since he got married.....does that mean anything??? LOL |

Greg, if en you do plan something try to do it past Dec. 1. I've always wanted to make it to one of them down there but there always at the wrong time. I would not drive down there I would fly there and use Ed's car. just an idea. ------------------ |

Agree the cruise to the Keys was a blast, and count us in for the next one too. Also agree with Jerry that best to plan into next winter after the busy holiday season. I also discussed with Jim Sutton who is interested too. I've also struck out trying to contact Wally over past year...he did fantastic job two years ago. Let me know when/where we can help with planning Greg. Norm and Sue ------------------ |

That was a fun event. It's too bad that I moved back to NJ from Miami. Maybe a bit too long now. That's a perfect ride down rt 1 in a prowler Trey |

I was at one about 9 years ago. We gathered at the top of the keys, and drove to Key West. Very nice trip. I think there was 20 or more Cats there. I heard from a friend of Wally's a few weeks ago. He said Wally just kind of disappeared, and he has not heard from him in months. I would not count on Wally to put together a Keys trip. Trey - not that far for you. With the hemi in your Cat, you would probably be here in just a couple of hours. Come on down! |

OK, I am willing to put something together. Please let me know when is the best time for everyone. Any suggestions for activities or what part of the Keys you would like to stay in will help (Key West or Marathon). I will do the leg work. Keep in mind the holidays. Also a lot of us including myself are planning to go to Texas next year so timing is important. |

If it is not until Feb or March we might be able to sneak down there. Of course we could be snowed in up here at that point. |

But I don't do winter planning till some time in Dec. But as soon as you have a sure date I will write it down and start to plan on it. ------------------ |

OK guys. I did a little quick checking and, like the rest of you, it seems everyone in the country wants to be in the Keys in February and March. Of course that means high season rates at the motels, and lots of places are already booked for many weekends. Last time we stayed at the Banana Bay Resort which seemed ok, BUT in February and March next year they want $385 a night plus 12,5% tax!!! NO WAY. I know we could knock them down some but still.... I also checked the new Holiday Inn Express and their regular rate then is $249/night plus tax. There are several "cheap" mom and pop motels that have just so so reviews. Not places I want to be responsible for putting you in. Doesn't matter so much to me...I have my own house down there LOL! Anyway I will keep looking. |

It looks like January may be a much better choice. We might have a couple of motel choices in the $125 range, perhaps less. I was using Jan. 18-20 to get an idea. How does that date sound to everyone? |
