a bit off topic but I was wondering why a bunch of these events are called " nationals " anyone know why these fairly small events get dubbed " nationals " ?

I guess any event where everyone in the Country is invited to attend, The local shows would be just a handful of local owners who get together

That makes sense... The term " nationals " in sports mean largest or best in the country... winners would be national champs...since car ownership is not competitive then it would seem the word takes on a new meaning....

Seems appropriate to me to identify the participation.
If not a local event with local attendees then it must be national or international.
Wish we could have been in NC this week too.
