I switched to nonrunflat tires.Love them.Does anyone know of a of a compact car jack that would fit under a
Prowler with a flat tire, and also fit in the "trunk". I had no luck on a site search. I have a plug kit and small compressor.Because so many owners are going to nonrunflats I thought it was a worthy question.

I tried to find a jack recently. It's the front that's the problem, so low. I ended up buying a couple of low profile drive on chocks that enable you to jack even front w/no problem once you pull up on them. Problem is they won't fit in trunk.

Hi Ken,,

Good question..

If you think its a critical problem you might face, the new style, very low profile jacks should fit in the trunk easily,,,sacrificing luggage space for the jack, and need to be tied down to prevent moving around.

^^ At that point,,,you'll need a lug nut breaking tool or four-way to get the lug nuts off, and still without a spare tire to put on......

I have a floor jack that i have used on the prowler but never put it in the trunk and i bought it at Sears. But how much better is the ride with those tires and what kind did you get. Also what day are you going to Woodward?

I have not fully researched it, but I would think there is some type of a "air pillow" available that you could fill with air to lift the car. The small air compressor could be used to inflate the pillow to lift the car... don't know for sure???

I had an air bag jack and it connected to the exaust pipe. Worked real good until it was stolen out of my car by a Valet company.

That's the lowest jack that I've ever seen! There's room in the truck of a Prowler for one of those!

6.5 inches, not enough to get a prowler wheel off the ground.6.25 inches from ground to frame rail jacking point, not enough to get the wheel off the ground, good idea, not enough range.a piece of 4x4 may do it.my scissor jack is 5 inches top to bottom closed.opens to about 12 inches.

There's a few funny comments on that site. Here's one quote:

"it worked but didnt hold air when line shot off exhaust....had minimal time to perform the work".

While AAA may be an alternative, it is up to you as an owner to prompt the person on the phone to send the proper equipment. Inform them this is a collector car that can easily be damaged, bla bla bla.

Upon arrival you would need to then evaluate the competency of the individual that shows up before allowing them to proceed, after all it is your car.

Services like these typically make money based on a high volume of calls. They simply want to get done as quickly as possible so they can get to the next job.

If the technician on site damages your vehicle.....oops simply won't be acceptable, will it? A little precaution goes a long way. JMO

A nice tip might help the tow operator take extra care in loading/off loading your car.

NOTE: Most tow trucks ramps are too steep and short wood planks will help allow clearance so the Prowler can be loaded properly. I carry photos to show the tow truck driver the correct procedure for "hooking up." I hope I will never need to use this information.

It always amazes me, someone can ask a question and so many people come up with interesting solutions, and interesting rebuttals. Thanks for all the input. Ken
