This is a true story and a true dilemma for me. I was offered $42,000.00 for my prowler tonight. I really had no intentions of selling my car at this point but I don't know if I can pass this up. I love my car. I absolutely love it. But I just might love $42K more. I have about $10K in mods done since I bought it so I would not be making a huge winfall but would be making a profit. In this market, $42K is awesome. Don't get too excited Ed because I would just turn around and buy another. But I know I would be buying in the $27K range and end up with a stock prowler.

Any advice?

A little background on the guy. He is 67 years old and has been admiring my car at cruise nights for over a year. He has expressed an interest in buying it in the past. He is a cancer survivor. I beleive it to be an aggressive form of the disease but he may have it beat as he gradually improves. I think he now has a new appreciation of life and is going to enjoy what time he has left. He has lots of dough.

Roger,

Maybe you can lease it to him with an option to buy.

You know, $35K down and $1K per month for three years.....At the end of the three years offer it to him for a mere $20k.

It seems AC is in line before you ... and if you reverse those last two numbers, bet you could sell yours then too!

Had a friend that was offered $450K for the new high profile car he built. He asked my opinion as to whether he should take the offer. My response was, would you have built him the car is he had offered you the same money.

If you enjoy the car, the money doesn't matter. If you'd like to do something different, you can find a low mileage replacement and start over.

Roger, I would sell. BUT. IMO Building it is a whole lot of the fun and see if you can make a better Prowler.

Then again... Like Bob said. If it is just what you want.. Keep it.

Stuff is stuff. We just like some stuff more than other stuff.

Good luck. I'm sure you will make the right decision for ROGER.

This is how a typical post goes on this site. Off course

If I was a new member and read this post, I would run for the first exit.

The people who want to aggrevate others on this forum know exactly who they are. The constant badgering of others by these people is non stop.

Others sometimes find the opportunity to attack others as they remember the times when this site had members who respected each other and rarely attacked each other. These people don't understand why there is a daily barrage of attacks on each other and I would guess want certain members to evaporate.

To people who don't know. There has always been some minor jabbing of each other on this site. It was never as brutal as it is today.

Members always helped each other. They still do, but many long time members no longer post as they have become tired of being attacked when they write something. They realize the best think to do is be quiet.

People are very brave and strong as long as they are behind a key board. The weak become strong. They assume a secret life when sitting at the computer. They type things that hurt people. Many times their brain is not thinking what they are typing.

I would guess if people are nice to each other these constant attacks might slow dow. If not, maybe we should assign more people to moderate this site. If a person then decides to attack a moderator or question his or hers final decision that will just be banned.

Of course being too thin skinned is not good either, but I do agree that some take it too far with the constant badgering of others.

Roger......my red '99 that you've seen (and helped me post pictures awhile back) has everything yours has, and more. Depending on how the numbers are worked (car + tax) could keep you in a well optioned Prowler and $2,500-3,500 in your pocket. Send me a PM if this could be of any interest.

SABYBY, I am using your quote, but this is not necessarily directed at you. LOL

Thinned skinned??.. Maybe.. Being a nice person is not a sign of weakness. It is a sign of someone that was raised right. Roll over and get stepped on?? Don't push us old guys, Viagra isn't the only thing that gets our blood flowing. Old age and treachery can make us old guys pretty nasty. I am just sick and tired of the childish behavior displayed by adults that should have gotten their butts spanked and their mouth washed out with soap when they were young enough for it to make any difference.

Being over 21, have a good job/business and enough resources to buy an expensive toy does not give anyone the right to act like a spoiled brat or make them any better than anyone else.

Carry on with your free speech, arrogant attitudes, smart a$$ remarks and us old guys will watch you park your toy because you don't know how to change the oil. It takes a bit to get me riled.. but lately some of the posts made here have done it and it isn't even my fight. I don't go to the political fourms either.

I YOU CAN'T SAY SOMETHING NICE.. WHY EVEN OPEN YOUR MOUTH

Another example of highjacking. This is the reason that I've been gone the better part of six months. I'd hoped that things may have improved, silly me.
