We had so much fun on the road to Las Vegas that I am seriously considering doing a road trip to Nova Scotia in July or Aug of 2013. It will NOT be an event. It will be more of a Power Tour type thing. We will probably drive up through PA into upstate N.Y. and then through Vermont, N.H., Maine and into Canada at New Brunswick and then into Nova Scotia. The drive is the main attraction. We don't know how far we will drive every day and won't hit the road until about 9 AM. We will quit driving at Dusk (+/-) a little. We will stop to see whatever piques our interest. You can join for a couple of hours or a couple of days or for the whole darn thing. We won't be making reservations ahead of time, no fees involved for anything unless we have to pay an entry fee, when we get there. We will probably hit Cooperstown, N.Y., Bar Harbor, the reversing falls in Fundy Bay and the jet boat ride, Cabot Trail around Cape Breton and Peggy's Cove and other points of interest. We have no idea of the exact dates at this time because I have to ask for Sandy's permission first. lol This will be extremely LOOSELY structured or possibly not structured at all. There will be some U turns, for sure. If you are uptight you probably want to skip the trip. Gad, Steve Clark, Bruce and Carol and Pete & Judy get priority treatment after providing us with so much fun and laughs on the trip West. |

Phil, I am too old to work and putting on an event is a LOT of work, according to some reliable sources. The next time we have the TALL STACKS in town, I may do something. We are having the WORLD CHOIR GAMES in town this summer, the first time it has ever been held in the USA. They couldn't get their act together enough to host both of those. The numbers for the Choir Games is staggering. I think it is 20,000 participants but that may not be correct, since I really didn't pay attention to it. TALL STACKS is pretty unique although I was bent out of shape at the seating on the boat for the last one. ChickenMan, I hope you and Cindy can make it. It should be a lot of fun. I talked with Bruce and Carol last night. Carol said that Bruce is already packing for the trip. She tried to explain to him that he has time to do so in a year...as usual, he won't listen to her! He already packed a new thermostat for the drive so that it will be easier on you Ed!! |

Ed: This trip is very tempting. Jane and I have traveled most all the lower 48 states but have not hit VT, ME or Nova Scotia. If I can hold off that long, I will be almost 83, but the Prowler keeps me going and I would love to "tag" along. |

Sounds like a awesome plan... it would be great to see some old friends again and meet some new ones. August is the best month for weather.... focusing on the cruising is a good idea. stop and have a break when you like, there are lots of beautiful spots in Nova Scotia to take pictures and socialize... I'll do some scouting this summer... |

YES to Ed. We have never been to that part of the country. I feel safer now that Gary and Cindy are thinking about going (at least he knows where where is going). As to anyone else...when you travel with Ed & Sandy you have nothing but fun. Including driving in the rain with the tops down. The secret is when you hit 70mph you no longer get wet. I didn't know that until following Ed to Denver. David. Thanks for all the confidence that you have in me. |

Sounds like a fantastic adventure brewing! I'll call Sharon and I in for right now. We will plan on a link up somewhere in Ohio on the way to Penn. Spontaneous adventures are a lot of fun. |

Y2K, the thermostat was only an issue for Bruce. No one else was concerned because we knew it would be an easy fix (and besides that, it wasn't OUR car), lol. We knew we would have it repaired and be on our way and we would have been behind schedule IF there had been a schedule. Same with the Nova Scotia trip. No schedule. Jerane, I hope you can make it. We might even let Andria tag along if you promise to supervise her closely. lol Last time we went up US 22 to Pittsburgh and through the Delaware Gap area, I think. I don't have a route planned, per se. Changes will be made on the fly, in all probability. The scenery is spectacular up that way and the temps are usually lower than here in Aug. Bruce, you can't get lost in Nova Scotia, if the ocean is on the left going it is on the right coming back. |

Lou, sorry I missed your post on this earlier. Glad to hear you guys can make it along with Rod and Gary MD. Bruce, I am NOT letting GarySSS lead just because he knows where he is going. That is not a qualification. lol If he has something else that qualifies him, that will be a different story. lol Again, this will be a VERY LOOSE trip. Come and go as you please, stop when you want, you don't have to stay behind the lead car, you can eat wherever you want. If you want to take off earlier in the morning, go for it. No rules, just fun. This is shaping up to be another great time. Jim is saying August is the better month so we will lean toward that. Maybe we can do it early in Aug. and then top it off with a stop at Woodward on the way back home. Maybe I can get some of the garage queens locally to make a road trip to see what they have been missing. |

Bruce, I'm not leading, it's too much pressure. I'll stay behind and pick up the strays. I'm glad to see Bruce is going though, we need someone to run interference with the Police. He can be our Smokey and the Bandit guy.LOL If the cops can't find him, Gad will lead them to him.LOL |

For those that make it up as far as Nova Scotia I am going to suggest a home base in Cape Breton at the Keltic Lodge... Nikki and I have stayed there a number of times.. it is truely a first class location... you can travel the Cabot trail and make it back to the lodge the same day or just short trip it and do some golfing on the highly acclaimed Highland links or take advantage of the heated outdoor pool. I am thinking of booking 3 nights there. like Ed said, everyone can make their own schedule without the normal restrictions....something to think about... here is the link. |

CJ, it is spectacular. The upper half of Nova Scotia is basically a huge park. Very few residents or businesses. The ocean comes right up to the side of the mountains/hills. Very green and lush. No traffic up there at all. Lots to see coming and going. This will be our third trip and it is still well worth seeing. Peggy's Cove is very picturesque. Vermont, NH and Maine are also extremely scenic with way less traffic than we are used to on this side of the country. I hope you guys can make it. |
