Does anyone know are tire pressure sensors absolutely necessary when installing new tires on aftermarket rims? Any suggestions on what brand of tires would be good and where to get the correct sensors if indeed they're necessary. Thanx |

We have a "tire" forum under Technical Discussion'. Be sure to click on "show all topics" at the top of that forum page or you will just see recent posts. The TPMs are not absolutely necessary but since your prowler has no spare tire or jack, they could save you from being stranded. Be sure to carry a plug kit and a small compressor if you don't have them. You will also have to deal with the light on the dash being on once they are removed. For this you can do the black electrical tape mod or disconnect the light behind the dash. |

If you don't use the original sensors you will need to get the new sensors calibrated to your particular car. You can't just change them out and voila, they work. You can't take a sensor off of one Prowler and put it on another and have it work, unless you have it calibrated. Also, you can't take a sensor and put it on the L R tire if it was on the R R tire or one of the fronts. It has to go in the exact position. There are after market sensors. |

If you don't want to use the TPMS and the light or bell sound comes on . Just Pull the Dash back and unplug the light and sending unit .Check Tire pressure time to time and Problem solved .. |
