Hello everyone! It's nice to be out Prowlen again! It seems I am in the need for some new speakers.

What's everyone have and do they fit right in without any modifications (i.e. speaker rings, wiring, etc.)?

Zack,
Just had a complete new system put in the Kat you looked at last Friday night (3/30). Fellow Prowler owner replaced all 6 speakers and put in a new sub with 5-channel Kicker amp. Only the sub needed minor mod - everything else slipped in just fine. The new Kenwood head also sounds awesome and looks great in the car. I can hook you up with all the part numbers if you like.

KopyKat,

Can you tell more about the sub and picture of install.

Where did you mount the amp?
Sub brand and size?
box type and brand or DIY?
Location of sub?

I replace my head unit and all six speakers about a month ago. Sub is next on the list.

Silver – sorry it has taken so long to get back to you – had problems accessing the site so needed admin help. Anyway, the sub was installed in the factory box – it was a bigger magnet so some screw extenders were used bit it fit fine. It’s a Kicker sub – p/n COMPVT65. The Kicker amp (p/n ZX700.5) fit nicely in the trunk – right behind where the top comes down. The 6 factory speakers were also replaced with Kicker speakers and the head unit is from Kenwood (KDC-X596). All of this came from www. Sonicelectronics.com) and was professionally installed by fellow 2001 Blue Prowler (THE BEST color) owner Don Diltz of Painted Dreams (www.Painteddreams.com).

I also have a Kicker Amp. Along with a 10 inch Kicker sub on the floor passenger side up front. Then 2 kicker speakers between the seats. The other 6 speakers back dash front dash and doors i think are pioneers. The radio is a Pioneer single disc.
