gas has exceeded $4.04 for regular and that means premium will be much higher and is predicted to hit $5.00 by summer.
The prowler may remain parked.

Last time gas prices climbed like this, it killed the springtime car show attendance. I believe the same is about to happen this season. Folks just cant afford to take their cars out, and people are not spending the money to come out and see them. Last year between the extreme heat and economy, the show entries and spectator attendance was significantly lower than I have ever seen. I feel like this year will be lower.

Since I can only use my cars 8 months out of the year, I will still use them, but it will be just to events close by.

I know many people are not to hot on the Toyota Prius, but I have owned one since 2006 and have to say it is one of my best cars.

Yes, it is a little small, but my wife gets 46 mpg.The Prius drives very well and when gas prices get high as they have many times since 2006 we take the Prius.

Last week we went on a trip that was about 300 miles. We used close to 7 gallons of gas. At $4.00 a gallon it cost us $28.00. If we took our other car which gets 18 to 20 miles a gallon it would have cost us $60.00.

This car has had no repair work done in 87000 miles. The braking system is different on this car than other cars and the brakes still have over 70% left on them.

I believe a person should buy the car they are happy with, but it is about time we realize that low gas prices will only be around for a short time. Our memory is short and as soon as prices go down we forget they were ever high.

If more people would change their driving habits and start buying the hybrids, and fuel efficient cars prices still might rise, but the Middle East will have excess fuel and hopefully this will somehow eliminate the spike in prices we are seeing.

Everyone can thank me for the high gas prices. I decide to drive to Vegas and record high gas prices. I will still drive the same as I have been, if it goes up $1 a gallon, it's only 10 more per fill up and I don't fill it up that much anyway unless I'm on a trip.

Life is short. Don't believe me? Scroll down to "In Remembrance Of" section and view all the departed POA members. None were 'old' #not buying green bannans stage of life#. You can run 87 or 89 octane with no issues. Don't run E85, that will destroy your Prowler. I drive my Prowler for the rush and enjoyment; and I enjoy every minute I can spend in her!

ive used 87 since day one.prices on everything we buy will go up .all those delivery trucks take alot of fuel, and the manufacturers and transportation cos arent going to eat it.-3.58 here for 87 octane.if your not going to drive it,sell it.if your buying premium, your wasting your money.

Des from most of your post, you don't put many miles on Prowler anyway. If you fill it once a month, It's $120 more a year, surely not enough to stop driving a car you love. You only live once, enjoy your life.

It's really sad that 4 years ago when oil was $100 a barrel, we were paying less than $2.00 a gallon for gas. Now we are subsidizing refined gas that we are sending to China and we are the ones paying the price. All of our excess gasoline is being sent overseas, and we are paying $4.00+ a gallon. Not a word of this is reported by the lame stream press. Refined gasoline is one of our largest exports. Sooo , lets economize more, buy electric cars and solar panels, say no to a pipe line that would create more jobs and oil, say no to more oil exploration here so we can become more dependent on other countries that hate us. IS THIS A GREAT COUNTRY OR WHAT !!!

My choice is to be a V-8 person (Prowler excluded), so I figure if that's my choice then there is no sense in complaining about the cost of fuel. I am fortunate enough to be able to afford the cost of fuel and as long as I am able, there will be no electric or hybrid in my garage.

I am thrilled with my 2011 Challenger . . . I opted for the new 305 HP V-6 over the Hemi RT. Best mileage has been 34 MPG, and on several recent trips 28.5. Style and good gas economy.
I don't drive the Prowler that much, so gas prices won't keep it in the garage any more than normal.

I filled up the Goldwing around 10:30 this morning at 3.11 a gallon. I came home and about an hour later decided to take the Candy Prowler out and was going to fill up at the same station, it was 3.49 by then. Timing is everything, I guess. The Goldwing only holds about 5.5 gallons.
I should have taken the Prowler out first.

Hate the prices just like everyone, but I'll be driving my cars the same as always. Life is too short to sweat the things we can't control. Just glad we don't have to sit in long lines wasting gas to purchase gas. The Prowler is not as bad on gas as my Hot Rod, 19+ MPG vs. 11 MPG & I smile when ever I drive either of them!

Ed, siphon the gas out of the Goldwing, and and put the gas in the Prowler. The cost then to fill the Prowler will only be $3.11. There is always a simple solution to life's complicated problems. LOL

Our strategic reserves are filled to capacity, oil is at $102 a barrel (same as when gas was $1.89) and we are paying $4 a gallon for gas, doesn't make scense !!! I feel sorry for the people who can't afford it.Guess I'll be driving my economy car (2011 Corvette, 28.5 mpg) more.

From CNN Money, Dec 5, 2011

NEW YORK (CNNMoney) -- The United States is awash in gasoline. So much so, in fact, that the country is exporting a record amount of it.
The country exported 430,000 more barrels of gasoline a day than it imported in September, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration. That is about twice the amount at the start of the year, and experts and industry insiders say the trend is here to stay.

The United States began exporting gas in late 2008. For decades prior, starting in 1960, the country used all the gas it produced here plus had to import gas from places in Europe.
But demand for gas has dropped nearly 10% in recent years. It went from a peak of 9.6 million barrels a day in 2007 to 8.8 million barrels today, according to the EIA.
