quote: ROD, take the ball and run with it, you plan it and they will come It will be hard to top Vegas #'s but sometimes a small group you get more quality time with each other, planning meals and scenic drives also easier with less than 96 cars .......... LOL Piegon Forge to the Biltmore in Ashville NC was a trip with 96 Prowlers, blocking started at Hotel and we did it all the way there. My car sitting blocking a dump truck while the other 95 cars made the turn, I think he enjoyed it, not so sure about all the cars that ended up behind him. Really if you can get 25 to 50 cars for an event that is a good turn out. My 1st big event I attended was when Larry Lord invited the Prowler owners to join him on vacation in Deadwood SD in 2001 58 Prowlers Someone said the Vegas event would be the biggest, well unless they have over 180 Prowlers in one place it will not be the biggest 2007 Chrysler Museum 10th anniversary party had 180 cats in the parking lot ------------------ This message has been edited by WildCat on 01-13-2012 at 12:40 PM |

Well, there is Dream Cruise in August! I believe that we had 185 cars at the Dream Cruise/10th Anniversary party. It was hard to keep track because late local owners were showing up that had not registered ahead of time! I was going crazy!! I have enjoyed the really large events that we have attended but after hosting the Anniversary event in 07 I will say I will never host a group like that again. It is a logistical nightmare. The Denver event in 05 with 80+ cars was bad enough. I am really enjoying the smaller groups I've had for Dream Cruise every year. I was pleased that everyone enjoyed the Anniversary event, but I for one didn't so much. I never had the chance to take my own photos, I never got to meet all the new folks that attended and never had time to relax and enjoy it. It took 8 months of my life to plan, mostly by myself. In the week prior, I had local help assisting me with the goodie bags, etc. A lot of what Chrysler was supposed to do got dumped on me, so I was doing their work AND the things I planned for the owners on my own!!!! I've been trying to get the Ohio folks to do something I think would be great....I'll even offer to help.. I'll talk to them this weekend at the party!!! The Smoky event a couple of years ago wasn't huge but we had pretty many cars and it ran smoothly mostly because I had some great folks helping me and we didn't plan a ton of stuff. The other thing that really helped is when something didn't go according to plan, no one got upset. We switched photos days due to weather, etc. I agree some of the smaller events are really great due to more face time. See you tomorrow evening. |

Blue ridge parkway August 7th A Day at the Biltmore House August 8th Free day for shopping downtown Asheville a Brew tour set up , no driving they will take us on a trolley. August 9th More roads that will make you sick? More water falls, Chimney Rock Park and Hendersonville for history and shopping. 6pm cocktail party 7pm dinner and a live auction. August 10th........ A Day on the worst roads you will ever see Hotel only has 85 rooms and 75 set aside Block is open August 2011 Also i have nothing to do with this National Prowler Event. quote: Rod - as far as 2013 in concerned n we are planning a Texas event for May 2013. I was looking at a hotel in the Hill country but am reconsidering and may move the host property to between Austin and San Antonio so most people coming from the north or east will be an hour closer. I plan to post an announcement AFTER the Las Vegas event. The Ashville event sounds like it will be fun with some great roads to cruise. I just wish I wasn't going to producing a convention in Boston at that time. |

Hello Rod, Good post and welcome to the POA group. I would like to go to the Vegas event, but can't talk my better half into taking the long drive for this trip. The Smokies have always been a great draw due to its natural beauty. I can't seem to find the trip details under events, as noted by Windy City (above). Cinci, Ohio is a great place for an event. The location is sort of central for people east of the Mississippi. Mt. Adams, the serpentine wall, great resturants, along with other attractions make it an excellent potential. Perhaps we can get Ed M. to help out with some ideas? |

We would come to Atlanta. I would presume you would avoid the middle of downtown due to the traffic but I am sure there is a lot to do there. |

Anybody interested in Wildwood NJ, it has the boardwalk, ocean and the town has that retro feel. Atlantic City and Cape May are very close. |
