Anyone interested in a auction?
Here's how it works:

A member donates an item, say a couple of center caps or memorabilia or something and puts them up for bid with a starting bid and closing time. Other members bid and the winning bidder sends the money to POA. Eigther The donator or the winning bidder can pay the shipping. Bidders should bid as high as they can knowing the money is going to a good cause.

We've done it on another site and it works great! Often the winning bidder will pay for it and then offer it to the second highest bidder at their price and basically doubles the donation. The second highest bidder can re-offer it again and so on, building a pretty good pot for the site. Winning bidders are not obligated to re-offer it.

I will start it off.

This auction is for 2 new center caps including shipping to North America. Closing time is Dec 31, 2011 at midnight. Starting bid is $40.00 USD. Bids are posted in this thread and can be increased by any increment.

We can have more than one auction going at a time if someone has another item to donate.

Generally in a raffle, participants buy tickets or some sort of other "place holder." Then a drawing or other type of random selection is held and the holder of the ticket wins the prize.

Good idea in any case though...
