The definition of "hot rod" has been long debated, but most enthusiasts agree they're cars based on pre-war body styles.

That car has been for sale for a couple years and likely for a few more years at that price... real price for that car in Canada should be around $45k including the hardtop.. JMO

man I dont like the red/black paint woodward paint job , the hard top, the barrel rear end plastic and the no bumpers.

It reminds me of the last time I ran into my ex wife... there had been so much plastic added, this moved , that shaved off, tuck here and there... that i barely recognized here but there was a hint of the beauty she once was vaguely apparent

I think that is Tom Mills original rear belly pan, he since has made one with the bumpers, (I like the bumpers on the rear better) The wheels look like not enough rear offset, hardtop OK, front end could use a chrome grill

But definately too much money IMO

That is correct,it is a Tom Mills belly pan, same as the one I have... I agree, a chrome grille would look nice on this car..

Can't say I have a problem with any of it. But that comes from someone who has done my share of mods. I still need the lambos and the hardtop, oh yeah ,the chrome front end. Jim, at least yours is still stock.

Ok, I have a Prowler. It is a super fun car to drive. As far as it being worth $69995.No Of all the Prowlers for sale, naturally you pick the most expensive to ask about. There are plenty of Prowlers in the $25-35,000 range. Would I like a manual, Yes, but it does have auto stick. You have to remember these cars were hand assembled and made almost entirely of aluminium. Which makes the very light for the 253 HP. Back in 1999 253 hp was more than most V-8 were. I have drove this car half way across the country with good gas mileage. How many actual hot rods drive very far? Like the saying goes " You either get it or you don't". These have all the creature comforts of new car with looks of old cars. They are also holding their valve better then most cars. They may all look similar, but how many do you actually see? I have had many cars, but none get more attention than this one whenever I drive it.

Of course! If we picked out a regular Prowler with a $25K sticker on it, it wouldn't really make for that great a debate, since (at least in my opinion) it's obviously worth it.

It's the customizations, here, that let us slap a question mark at the end of the price tag and get discussion going.

While I wouldn't call a Prowler a "real" hot rod, I'd definitely love to have one in my garage, especially in that original purple. Gorgeous cars.

Eh, which colour is yours?

I actually have 2 1999 Purple and 2001 Blue Mulholland edition. Most people who complain about the Prowler have never drove one. They ride firm, but handle excellent. They are very quick and fun to drive.

for those people that hate the modifications, I am glad I kept mine almost totally stock. Hot rods are supposed to be stock, right?? Mine was certainly a hot rod in my mind!

I really think there must have been at least one part, somewhere that was still totally stock!

The side panels on the Woodward in the origanal post have always been one of my favorites (along with louvers) but I don't believe they are being made anymore. Someone else will post better info, I'm sure!

TGF Metal Crafters made these side panels. I'm pretty sure they do not produce aftermarket parts for the Prowler any more.

here is their contact info if you would like to ask yourself.
