I used to write on this forum quite a bit when I was younger (117) but now that I am a little over 120 years of age, I am wondering if this car is something that I should hang on to.

It seems that a significant amount of the parts are becoming difficult, if not impossible to obtain. I once had an Cadillac Allante that was close to extinct and that left a bitter taste in my mouth and a significant dent in my wallet.

I have a Delorean, but it has almost all parts available and seems like it is holding it's value.

In short, are any of you concerned about the lack of support for this product by Chrysler? Mine only has 2,600 miles on it and is stock but maybe it is time to say goodbye while there is still some value left.

Your thoughts?

I think almost all parts of the prowler are also still available and it is also holding its value. Maybe the delorean should go.

My concern with the Prowler is the electronics. As a low production model, I am afraid the electronic components will be the first to dry up. Even the fuel pump is a retro-fit item now. I intend to hang onto mine, at least for a few more years.

The Prowler is like any other collectable car out there.. Some try to keep them all stock and will only use factory replacement parts until the supply dries up.. Then there are others that when the part fails, or before it fails either find away to fix the original one, retro fit something from something else or modify the replacement part so it's far better then the factory ever made.. Not only giving it more performance, but reliability to... John(onecatnodog)

I love the looks of the Prowler and finances permitting, will keep it for a long time.
Over the years I have had many toys, none of them stock. just my personal preference but stock is boring. Might as well lease a new fancy car every couple of years. Nothing personal about it.
If parts become unavailable, then we'll make something work. Being a true Hot Rodder, having built cars from scratch, I will find a solution, usually with the help from folks at this site.
But who knows, in 15 years maybe Bad Cat will just be a shell over a tube frame with a huge engine and race driveline tucked underneath. Not planning on this but I personally would not sell this great car because of a potential shortage of repair parts.
Being innovative is part of having a toy. JMHO

I agree John, there is enough talent out here to keep our cars running long into the future. I never intend to sell any of my collection, and who knows, may add to it at some point!

We just returned from the SEMA SHOW,,,and I can tell you there are many, many parts fabricators out there to help. Same with the electronics,,,,dozens of companies with very brilliant people, to help solve the possible future problems.

in the long run-body parts.you will not see anybody reproducing these, aint going to happen.engine and electrical parts to a point, yes same engine as intrepid and chrysler 300m 04 and down, those cars are also getting old going on 8yrs old.like any old cars parts run out as for a/m cos,i doubt it very very much do to cost and low production numbers.ive already contacted a few a/m cos and there answer, yes if you can buy 200 to 500 at a time therefore no.the wrecking yards part them out as soon as they get them, and not enough in the yards yet.like the rr shocks gone, talked to qa1 one of the largest a/m shock cos out there.we will have to take one of there in stock shocks and alter the brkts to make them work.you dont see any a/m part cos. making delorean parts.i guess we are lucky to have-stickit up your butt bill in michigan.

Keep it. No other car has the fun factor of the Prowler. I know from my experiance that I regret ever giving up my Prowler. Don't get cold feet about the reliabilty. These cars are stone cold depenable mules that can be counted on to run mile after trouble free mile. I had no reliability issues with my car when I had it.

Don't sell it. You'll be sorry if you do.
