If you have had a center cap break, or fall off, was it the front or the rear wheel? Mine have been on the front, every time. The front wheel gets hotter from the brakes than the rear wheels, I THINK, and that may be what is contributing to the tabs breaking. Front or Rear? |

I have only had one break, and it was on the front also. My car was only a couple of years old at the time, and the replacement was covered under warranty. Luckily, no problems since then. |

Ed, congratulations on this profound revelation. Maybe one of us can get to work on a front hub cooling system to counteract this life changing situation you've unearthed. |

Nice Beachcat, very nice. Mine were both the front as well Ed. I'm not sure whether a Brembro setup would be better or not, but I would think something slotted at least would help. Tami |

I have had 2 broken.. Both on the rear, but that was done at a tire shop and they siliconed the centercaps back onto the wheels. I noticed months later and had the permanent fix done. Since then, the tire shop owner offered to pay for the damage. A first class owner!!! I have 90,000 miles on the front. No broken caps. I installed drilled and slotted rotors at about 10,000 miles. Maybe that does make a difference. Good thought, Tami. |

I don't always trust epoxy. The hot glue (gun) really works well |

I had one front center cap break with drilled and slotted rotors. Ed does a great job in helping Prowler owners with center caps. |

i lost a front one. Then while trying to get the time to install knock-offs, i lost a rear, same [passenger] side. I'm thinkin' i must have hit more bumps on the right side. |

Ed, Beachcat/Fibertop is the smartest man on this forum and knows everything there is to know about the Kats, if you don't believe it just ask him, he will tell you. Just another sarcastic smart a$$ response from him. Some people just never learn and he is one that won't. Don't even waste your time responding to him and maybe he will go away. But dear God what would we do without his vast Prowler knowledge. Smiley face or not it was a comment that didn't need to be made. But Beachcat just can't resist responding to a post any post even though he had no comment on the center cap issue. I lost 1 cap off my Kat and it was off the front. I pulled up to a stop sign and heard a noise and seen it rolling down the street, came off like a hubcap used to in the old hubcap days. I stopped and got it but it was toast. The dealer replaced it. |
