Here we go again! Would someone who can make a good point show these people the truth about the Prowler? http://www.carlustblog.com/2011/09/plymouth-prowler.html They surely don't have the facts about the planned limited production of the car and the waiting list that Chrysler had. The list goes on and on. These people don't know squat about the Prowler thats obvious. |

One thing I noticed the article said "there are plenty of fans out there." It is a link to this Website. |

Honestly i don't pay any attention to the articles that are written about the prowler. They have been written since the Prowler was made by people who know nothing. This message has been edited by WINDY CITY PROWLER on 09-19-2011 at 03:07 PM |

Why beat yourself up over what people think or think they know about Prowlers? Just enjoy the car and watch their jaw drop when you drive by. Let them think what they want , its their lost. We'll just keep on cruzing along. |

Dale, I sympathize with you. I don't like seeing misinformation about my car either. I think we should expose it whenever we see it. Especially this article which links to this site. Maybe the readers will read this thread and get the real scoop. Keep up the good work! |

A/C, I know the dealers were not suppose to take names or make a waiting list but wasn't the demand strong and supply limited? I consider myself new at this and some people were lucky enough to buy their Prowlers new. I missed out on the IPO but am glad to get mine late, better than never. Let's hear about some of the experiences that people had when the cars were new just to see how it went. I can imagine it was like an adult Christmas and the big kids were afraid Santa wouldn't have enough toys to go around! lol Some people took two or more, I bet they got coal in their stockings. |

That only occurred before the 97's were actually for sale and for a very short time in between the 97s and 99s. After the summer of 99, there were not lists, I don't think. I bought my first one new in April of 99 and had to call a few dealers but there was no waiting list. Others may have had other experiences and I am sure they will post it. |

My '97 was "auctioned" off to the highest bidder...profits went to charity. It was a black-tie event with champaign. I took a check which I thought had a chance. The opening bid was for $50,000 and I was out. My car (trailer included) eventually sold for $83,500 to a car collector here in the region. Three years later the man's wife called and sold it back to the dealer at cost. The car had never been driven. So I bought a brand new '97 Prowler in 2000 with 0 miles.I am the 2nd owner but the only "driver". |

I personally knew the salesman that worked at the local Chrysler Plymouth dealer. I told him in 1998 that I would be buying a Prowler in June of 99 when I started drawing my retirement pay from IBM. He told me just to give him 45 days notice before I was ready to buy. We kept in touch during the next 10.5 months, assuring him I was serious. During the waiting period they got a 99 yellow and had it sitting on the showroom floor. I had to beg to be able to sit in it as they kept it locked. My salesman friend was not there on that particular day. I called him in on April 13 of 99 giving him my 45 days notice. Two hours later he calls back and says I have your car. I told him I had to wait until June 1st when I would get my first retirement check. He said no problem we could work it out and I could get the car now. The Car was trucked up from Alabama and I had it two days later. Just waiting that two days after I signed the papers was murder. I had to pay $5k over the sticker and at the time I felt that was a pretty good deal based on other stories I had heard. Sticker at the time was just shy of $40k.
