Not one car on that list would get more looks than a prowler. |

I could agree that the Buick GN was one bada#s car & like the Fiero GT, once GM got it right, they quit building them. I have owned a pair of Taurus SHO's. I bought a new 91 & a 95, both with the 5 speed stick. It was by far the most unassuming car on the streets & prior to the Cadillac V series, was the fastest production sedan built in America. What a blast to drive. The SHO V6 would easily leave the SHO V8 (96-99) in it's dust. The V-8s were poorly designed (cam gear key way would shear). When the key sheered the engine would destroy itself as they were not free wheeling like the V6. Even so, they were slugs. you could only get the automatic with the V8. Many felt the demise of the SHO was in 92 when the automatics became available. 7,000 RPM off the show room floor was nothing for any of the V6s. I remember them well. But in reality, the only cool thing about them was they were invisible on the street and invinceable on the road. The Prowler is a totally different animal. No one mistakes it for anything else! You can't sneak into or out of town in one. JMHO This message has been edited by Ed W. on 08-01-2011 at 09:12 PM |

Rich Ware, Eddie Powell and BlueCat, read the comments AFTER the article. He is looking for a Prowler owner N E of Atlanta to feature in his article. I realize Rich is probably NW but not that far away. |

quote: Good suggestion Ed ... and the Viper ACR surely would get glances from racers that the Prowler would not ... brings me back to CAAPI when people were asking about ABS, Traction Control and all sorts of other "modern day" creature comforts for both a race car amd street rod |
