Just got my new Prowler today. Checked to see if the Ball Joints had been done through Chrysler, and they were.It is in the shop now getting all the fluids changed. Getting a insurance quote from Nationwide. (I have two other cars through them)They quoted 110.00 per month for full coverage. 1000.00 deductible. Was just wondering if that was reasonable? |

IMO,,,,NO. Might try Barrett-Jackson Collector Car insurance. Do a 'search',,,,you'll find the phone numbers. SAVE $$$, if the car isn't going to be a daily driver |

Insurance rates vary GREATLY by zip code. If there are lots of stolen cars, lots of vandalism claims, lots of accidents near where you live, you pay more. In the city is generally higher than out in the country. That quote seems way to high to me also, but I am 67 so if you are 22 you will pay more also. Men pay more than women, etc. etc. |

Another thing to consider is that Barrett-Jackson doesn't actually sell insurance. The polices are underwritten by Chartis Property Casualty Company. This is stated in the fine print on the BJ website. Chartis is part of AIG. I'm sure many remember the issues they went through. However, Chartis just reorganized. The link talks about it. http://seekingalpha.com/news-article/868716-chartis-reorganization-draws-positive-reviews |

quote: Ray, their Claim Service is EXCEPTIONAL. I had a claim, called them and reported it on a Sunday. Received a call back on Monday acknowledging the Claim. Gave me the name of my Adjuster. Wednsday the Adjuster called and introduced herself and explained the Claim process. That Thursday had an Independent Appraiser look at the car, and she did not argue with ANYTHING I suggested in regards to my repair. Friday received a call from the Adjuster again asking if everything had gone OK. That Saturday I received an email copy of the Estimate, was just as the Appraiser and I discussed. The following Tuesday I received my Check. $0.00 Deductible, made out to ME Only. |

AIG was separated out of AIG before the bailout. It's true, they are still a sister (or daughter) to AIG but don't let that sway your decision. I have a total $122K coverage thru BJ on 2 cars with premium about $600/yr. Trailer/weekender/hardtop all covered. Up to $250K you need no appraisal. |

I may pay a little more for insurance and have less coverage related to the car's value but there are NO restrictions about when, where, or how often I drive the car. For me having no restrictions is more important than a lot of those other things. I have $500,000.00 liability limits with $250.00 deductibles for a little under $500.00 annually. 54 year old female, no points in past 20 years, no claims in over 10 years. I was able to pay cash for my Kat when I bought it so if it were to get totaled, there would be no loan to worry about. |

Andria I was the same way, didn't won't restrictions, but with having two Prowlers and other cars to drive I ended only using the Prowlers for Prowler events, cruises and going to parties anyway. The 2500 mile a year restriction is usually all I put on each one anyway. I did ask before I went with BJ if you could go over the limit if you were doing long club trips like next year to Las Vegas or multiple events and they said yes just give them a call and let them make a note of it. Plus my regular ins would not give me guaranteed value. This message has been edited by garysss on 06-11-2011 at 08:57 AM |

Wow mine is not that bad with hagerty, here in NJ I have full coverage, 33k in value and no deductible and pay 580 a year. I have been pretty happy with them and my 69 Camaro is only 320. Sounds like barrett has some of the best rates. I'm ok with Hagerty for now No restrictions on mileage either The area you live on also makes a difference. I'm in north jersey less than This message has been edited by treyb on 06-11-2011 at 11:13 AM |
