Well Its been a cold winter up here in North Jeresy after spending 3 years in sunny Miami. I miss homestead race track and the entire Flordia Kat pack.

Well to start the season right I found a nice 1/4 mile drag strip in Great meadows NJ called Island dragway.
I got the kids to nap and had a nice afternoon on Sat 3/19/11.

Weather was a nice 57 degrees. Prowler was ready to go.
Got my helmet and had some fun.

My Kat is a 99 with Prowler Pro headers, gears, K&N intake, TGF side panels, Full Kat exhaust.

Was a great day for running.
Best run of the day was against a 550HP vette.
He let me win heres a video link
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4mT-DrWWudI

Reaction time .093 great
1/8 mile 9.137
1/4 mile 14.434 at 93.0mph.
Here a nice video of the track and a solo run http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s68pBML08As

The prowler is always a looker more than a speedster but I must have gotten over 10 thumbs up and 5 pictures taken on the highway on the ride home. 10 years and still loving it

Spring is in the air!!!

Sounds like it could be a good day trip...may be worth trying to put together a group to go.

Did you ever run the 1/4 before replacing the headers and intake ? Much difference?

The best thing you can do if you want to feel a difference is get a set of gears. Not a real Hp gain but you get off the line faster and you will feel
The jump into second. The prowler does real good in 1st and second , 3rd is not bad 4 is a dog. I race auto until 3rd and leave it.

The gears defiantly helped. With the intake it feels more open meaning it breathes much better and it's a cheap mod. You can actually hear it pull air. The TGF side panels seem to help also because my k&n filter sits right next to it. Deans(prowler pro) headers I can tell you I think I gained maybe 10 hp the dyno. When you take the stock ones off the weight alone and restriction is clear. What I can say is the engine just breathes better which helps.

The first 10-20 hp is easy but nothing is cheap. I tend to add things over time to keep it interesting each year. Shoot me a pm if you have questions.

My Order of improving things was 1. Kat exhaust, intake, gears, headers, side panels

Trey,

14.43 is an awesome run with your mods. Now all you have to do is get rid of the front bumpers to improve your aerodynamic and reduce weight.
I love driving my Prowler up north because they seem much more rare and people love given the thumbs up!

I agree with Trey in the order of mods: exhaust and intake, gears, headers. Try that and if it does not satisfy then you will need save for a 5.0L stroked V6.

Spoons
Miss you man back in florida.
Your right we are all just playing for Speed that Prowler Pro 5.0 experience and power is amazing. I will never forget the day in Jacksonville visiting ED and his 5.0. This was truely an amazing ride and power band. Its hard to explain but basically when the normal prowler kind of dies in the mid and upper range this one just pulls.
There is power at all stages of the band and it pushes you back in your seat. Burn outs standing still and its still an great cruiser. Ed has over 128k miles on his Kat. 40k or so on the 5.0 so it lasts.

This video that Dan pena made is probally the best way to decribe how its feels and pulls. Go to about 40 secs into the video!!! http://www.prowlerpro.com/GrandJunction/VideoClips/video17.html

Dean also can do about a version under the hood like Jordan's Prowler Pro super charged, intercooled stroker 5.0.
Jordans 5.0 smoked vipers in the colorado viper prowler shoot out he out ran four Vipers,,,,,,with times of 13.0,,,13.1,,,13.2,,,13.3?

In 75 degree heat at over 6000 feet he was running low, very low 13's. At that elevation,,,,,that's smokin'!
and Marc is right there with them with about a second behind. with the Prowler pro 5.0 #1.

That probally more like 12's and 13's at sea level in florida or nj.

Spoons I think ours 1/4 times are just playing around. Image how much faster it would be if we could pull off the line like deans or marcs in this video http://www.prowlerpro.com/GrandJunction/VideoClips/video13.html

Here is some of the pict of EDs motor

one day i hope to join the club
