Its been 10 years with bumpers and suddenly I am thinking of removing fronts. I am way out of touch with part availability and cost. Where do I find removal kits these days? I would like to hear any feed back on what is out there.

While a "purist", who happens to like the look with the bumpers in place, I have seen a number of cars with different kits, and Tom Mills' does appear to have the best fit and color match. That is the route I would go - if I were so inclined.

I have been a purist all along, but being a 99 my bumpers were originally gray. I had them painted black several years ago only because i felt it looked better on a yellow car. I have some chips on them, so tonight I removed them to have them repainted. I don't know what came over me, but suddenly I liked the no bumper look. I think I had a flash back to those "Hot Rod" days of years gone by. I will give it a couple of days to see if I calm down, but mean time I will look into what Tom Mills has to offer.

My wife tries to protect everything for example. When we go to the lumber yard she puts a blanket down to protect the plastic bed liner. Now that you know where I am coming from, when I bought my 99 Prowler Christmas Day on EBay it sits in the garage and things have to be protected, right? I mentioned removing the front bumper and she said she likes it on, I said OK. Then I found the Speed Lingerie bumper covers here http://www.speedlingerie.com/ I ordered them in black and when they came I installed them (front only), they make the car look very custom. I don't have pictures yet but I will get some when I can get it in some better light. They were made very nice and the fit was perfect, kind of pricey but we are extremely happy with their product.

Hey Larry Lord, I noticed on your Prowler logo, you have a cargo carrier. I am looking to either buy or fabricate something for the back of my Prowler to carry luggage in. I don't always follow the crowd.

Hey Larry, been a long time!! When was the last time you drove cross country in a cat? Always admired you for that! Mom & dad still talk about it, in their mid eighties. Nice hearing from a legend.

I have the kit sold by Gary and believe it has a more streamlined look that better matches the lines of the car. I also saw the new upgraded LED lights he is using and they looked good. You can find a link to his website on the home page.

Funny you should mention that,,,,2 years ago we drove to Chicago via Denver then ran Route 66 from start to finish.
Last year we spent 2 weeks going to and from Springfield Missouri and Branson.
I still love driving my car.
Isn't about your turn to make a cross country trip?

I made some pretty nice (in my opinion) luggage carriers I call "KatRack" that plugged into the trailer hitch but stored in the trunk as a trunk organizer when not in use. Do a search and you should find information on them.
I use mine often and still think it's one of the best products I ever designed but I quit selling them because somebody got an obstructed license ticket, kept blaming me and just would not let-up.

This is a hobby for me. I'm fortunate that I have manufacturing capabilities and that I make things that help other owners.
I'm always here if needed but seldom post much anymore.
